Great portion sizes for foods, especially during their deal days. Service is good, even though they struggle with english. Awesome takeout/togo options.

Soooo yummy! My food was out in less than 5 minutes during peak dinner hours & the staff were very nice. 10/10 would definitely come again!

My daughter and I ordered guac & two sopes - one carne asada and one Rajas. Guac and chips were tasty, but both sopes were terrible. They were undercooked and dough was raw inside. Aside from lettuce, they had very little toppings and little to no beans. The carne asada was bland and tough. The rajas was mostly onion which I like but I ordered it for the poblanos. There were had 2 little pieces of poblanos and a couple of mushrooms. I would not go back.

Very clean!! 1st time and will be returning!! The guy that took our order was easy to understand, he knew what were talking about, asked all the right questions and had a very good memory when 2 of us were speaking at the same time 🤭. I had a steak burrito(1/2) and a dorito walking taco 🤤 very good, so good I don't think I'll be able to replicate it 😆. The elote was good, we are use to it being more creamy but was still good! Fish and chicken tacos were a favorite.

The portions are big!! The food is delicious!!! I got breakfast for dinner!!!

My son got a burrito and he loved it, this was also the first time he couldn't finish a burrito... he had enough for lunch the next day!!!

This spot easily serves some of the best tacos and tortas in town, flavorful, fresh, and consistently satisfying. I’ve tried several things on the menu, and I’m always impressed.

However, I recently ordered the tortas ahogadas and was a bit disappointed. The torta itself was too salty (not because of the sauce), and while the sauce wasn’t bad, it wasn’t the traditional one you'd expect for a true torta ahogada. The bread they use also isn’t quite right using birote salado would make a huge difference in both texture and authenticity. Plus, serving it on a flat plate instead of a bowl just doesn't work well for a dish that’s meant to be soaked in sauce.

That said, everything else I’ve tried has been excellent, and it’s still one of my favorite places for tacos and tortas. Just hoping they tweak the torta ahogada a bit!

The monarca burrito is by far the best burrito I've had in the area. Very clean place with a top notch salsa bar.

Very good tacos, the place is clean, good location, good flavor and variety. If you're coming to La Crosse, come eat at Taqueria la Monarca. Highly recommended.
