“Sagra is an Italian Eatery above Piggy’s on Front Street in La Crosse. It was recommended to us by several residents. It did not disappoint. We started with an Arancini appetizer. We have had arancini before, but NEVER like this. It’s the best we have ever had. Instead of being rice heavy, it was cheese heavy. They were almost like a Wisconsin cheese curd. The pecorino, a mixture of Italian cheeses, was melty and delicious, especially dipped in the buttermilk dipping sauce. We also ordered the special appetizer, fried wax beans. The breading was very light, almost like tempura. The dipping sauce added the flavor. They were good, but the Arancini definitely stood out. For entrees we got a crawfish dish and a chicken dish. Both were generous portions, which allowed us to have leftovers for lunch the following day. The Crawfish Fra Diavola was filled with crawfish and was very flavorful with fresh ingredients. The Chicken Scarpariello was delicious. The polenta was rich and creamy. The chicken comes bone in and skin on, which keeps it juicy. This dish also had Italian sausage and fresh vegetables. I really enjoyed the Italian sausage as a contrast to the chicken. The only disappointment was when we asked the waitress what 5 dishes were on the “chef’s market menu,” she didn’t know and really wouldn’t elaborate. I wanted to try that, but at $58 per person, the requirement for full table participation, and no information, I wasn’t willing to take the chance.“

“I threw a surprise birthday party last night for my husband at Christo’s/Robert’s Reserve. Greg was very responsive and accommodating. Met with us to come up with a game plan, menu, etc. for the evening. Great food and drinks! Robbie rocked the bar! The birthday boy, myself, and all of our guests had such a great time. Beautiful space for special occasions or just a date night out. THANK YOU! 🥂“

“This was a great cafe to happen upon. You first notice a huge patio seating area. Inside had a modern rustic motif that was very inviting. The menu was full of great food and beverage options. The barista that greeted us was friendly and helpful. Our coffee and food was delicious; we got a chicken caesar wrap and blueberry banana bread baked oatmeal. I highly recommend Grounded Cafe.“
“Lisa and shannon are amazing! Very laid back bar and friendly people inside! Pool tables and darts, slot machines, pull tabs and kareoke nights for your amusement. Some drinks are kinda over priced but it's a bar what do you expect? Love this place to throw a few cold ones back.“

“Unwinded Winery Bar delivers an experiential standout that truly raises the bar for La Crosse’s social scene. The vibe is absolutely unmatched anywhere in the area—an intentional mix of sophistication, personality, and playfulness that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a hidden gem.
If you’re new to Unwinded, as I was, you’ll be fascinated to learn the building once operated as a bank. That history isn’t just trivia—it’s part of the charm. The two original vaults (one upstairs, one downstairs) have been masterfully transformed into intimate seating nooks. It’s the perfect blend of being part of the energy while still enjoying your own tucked-away moment.
Then there’s the downstairs space— quite literally, a game changer. The basement is filled with games and activities that create a high-engagement, low-pressure environment for fun, laughter, and connection.
The design is intentional, well-curated, and anchored by its own bar and fireplace. It feels like your favorite lounge, your best friend’s game room, and a cozy winter retreat all rolled into one.
The wine selection is thoughtful and approachable, and the light menu offers just the right assortments to complement the evening. Add in the big window that frames the season’s nostalgia, and the setting becomes both memorable and magnetic.
And I can’t say enough about Megan—cool, welcoming, and effortlessly hospitable. She set the tone for a great night and made the experience feel personal in all the right ways.
Unwinded Winery Bar is absolutely one for your top-favorites list—or at the very least, a must-visit destination. Whether you’re there to sip, snack, socialize, or simply soak in the atmosphere, this place delivers an unforgettable experience from top to bottom.“
