Have lived in the area several years now and never knew about this gem! It's small but the menu is not overwhelming and has a lot of fan favorites. I had a simple barbecue sandwich and it was amazing. Portions are standard and it's very affordable. The scenery is also lovely and very close to the Kickapoo River.

The Kickapoo Paddle Inn is your standard touristy stop for quick food and beverages after paddling or fishing the Kickapoo River. I often stop in here for an inexpensive (and large) soda before heading back to Madison. You can dine in or place an order at their outdoor counter. They have picnic tables on the property, or you can hop across the street and eat in the park. Their staff mostly consists of local high school students or summer - job college students - all friendly and eager to please. The food itself is nothing impressive, but a good value nonetheless. One last note, they don't open until 3pm during most of the season.
