saw another review about being unwelcomed, and I agree. Felt more like an inconvenience than a customer. Food was average and nothing i’d recommend to anyone else. left a tip and never went back.
Don’t know what people think they are eating from jansen’s I ordered lake perch and if that’s perch I’ll eat my shorts worst fish I ever had😡and pricy

Jay did it again!! Outanding Valentine's menue tonight. Had the tenderloin tornados. I frequently enjoy fine dining and I never would have expected such a fine meal this side of Chicago. Jay has kicked the quality, presentation, and taste of Jansen's food up about 50 notches. One of the most delicious meals I have ever enjoyed...3 mustard/horseradish encrusted medium rare tenderloin medallions with just a touch of Bourne's sauce, served with sweet potatoes and broccoli. I topped it off with Homemade bread pudding. PHENOMENAL MEAL. I have been dining here since 1983 and it just keeps getting better.
We went there tonight for a birthday and the food was amazing and the service was just as amazing! We had prime rib, perch, and the stuffed shrimp. Everything tasted great! Thank you!
The fish was undercooked. They took it back to the kitchen, and 4min later came back with it and it was still undercooked. They need a door that separates the kitchen to the dinning area. I nearly tossed my cookies twice. I don't think I would want to watch them prepare my food. Just let it be a mystery, it's better that way

We were looking for a new place to try and could not be happier that we decided on Jansen's. It's a small, mom and pop type place with a friendly, casual atmosphere. We were greeted right away and sat in the dining area. Service was fast and friendly by both the bartender and waitress. To start, we had the combination platter that came with HUGE portions of chicken strips, shrimp, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, cheese curds, and battered mushrooms. Entrees were Perch and Chicken Alfredo - again, large portions for each. The food was amazing. Perch was fresh and lightly breaded with great tartar sauce. The Alfredo was from scratch and 100x better than your typical Alfredo at any chain restaurant. The waitress checked in on us several times, was very observant, and anticipated what we needed before we even needed it! The kitchen manager and cook came to thank us for coming in and made sure everything was to our liking, which was really nice. If you're looking for a comfortable, casual, friendly, and delicious spot to try, this is definitely it! This was by far the best customer service I've had at a restaurant in Oshkosh since I moved here 6 years ago.

A great classic Oshkosh establishment. My wife and I along with our little 4 month old stopped in on a Wednesday night for dinner. The food was good and the service was spectacular. The gentleman running the kitchen came out to say hi and run through the specials and was very nice and helpful as was the other gentleman running the bar and taking orders. We will be back!

Our first experience for a Friday night fish fry. Arrived about 6 PM and found two spots at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and attentive and they put our name on a list for a table. There are only about 10 tables so the wait was about an hour but well worth it! Our waitress, Charlie, was friendly and efficient. My wife ordered the deep fried haddock, and I had the deep fried walleye. Both were lightly breaded, not greasy, and the fish was flakey and fried to perfection. I had the american fries for a side, which were awesome! We shared a pumpkin torte dessert, which was also delicious! This friendly, neighborhood pub was a gem of a find, and we will be back!

I have eaten here a few times in the last couple months. They do a good job. ? I've experienced good service. And the food is good! Last time my sister ordered the tenderloin. I got the stuffed shrimp. We split our meals and enjoyed steak and stuffed shrimp! I wish they had that on their menu here, but they don't. The tenderloin was delicious and cooked to perfection. This time I ordered the walleye sandwich special for 12 bucks. It was a great deal! And it was good. ? thumbs up to this place.
The service was amazing as well as the food! We will be coming back soon!

This is an old corner Tavern in the classic style and quite indistinguishable from the rest of the neighborhood.
Step inside and it's pretty much more of the same.
And then, when you are served, it turns into a 4 star restaurant.
Wait staff is right on top all the time.
The chef talks to you and follows up with inquiry asto the quality of your meal.
The prices are average for steak restaurants.
If you like quaint small joints with that small town vibe, this is your place.
