I was at the Costco in Pewaukee, WI this morning and I had a horrible experience with the employee working in the self-checkout area. I have been here many times before and have never had an issue with anyone before. I was checking out and my boyfriend was with me, and he wanted to pay for half of my groceries. When he went to pay this woman stopped him in the rudest way telling me that if he is not a member he couldn't pay. Then she pointed at this sign like I was an idiot and tried to cancel what we had just scanned. I told her to leave it because there was no point in cancelling it and I would have him transfer me the money. I asked what does it matter? It's my membership and my groceries, what do you care if he pays for it on my behalf? She then started babbling on about how she isn't going to get any raises this way, and some other stuff that was muffled since she was wearing a mask. Then started talking about us to another woman standing behind us. This was absolutely unnecessary. I had my boyfriend stand there and transfer the money to my account just so he could help me out. It was absolutely embarrassing that she had to bring another person into the situation. She could of have been professional, and kind, but instead ruined our experience with her attitude. I will be canceling my membership as this has left a very poor impression on the both of us. Being a manager myself, I would never tolerate having an employee who would make someone feel the way this woman made us feel.

I am a big Costco fan, and the first reason is the workers are great. It's what happens when the CEO makes less and the front line workers make what they are worth. Second, the prices are great. Third, there are more human cashiers than self check out. Third, it's a great place for lunch. There aren't many negatives, but since they concentrate on bulk deals you can't get a small portion of anything and the best deals are ephemeral. They had an amazing low price on cases of 5oz name brand cat food cans and I could only fit 5 in my Fiat 500 and even that hurt my back. But still, I wanted to get some more but they were gone within a week. The other negative is more serious, there are crowds of people shopping at any Costco and this one is busier than others. Some of those people are obnoxious. Really intolerable. What are you going to do?

Coffee Cake Muffin: I won't deny that muffins are generally delicious, but I'm not the biggest muffin connoisseur. My rationale being they tend to have nearly as many calories as cupcakes, but no frosting (I like to get the most for my caloric dollar). For example, a Nothing Bundt Cakes Snickerdoodle bundtlet has 660 calories and this muffin has between 660-740 calories (unofficial sources as nothing official from Costco). Calories aside, this was about as good as a muffin can get. The muffin top was crisp, crunchy, and packed with sugary cinnamon streusel pieces. On the inside, it was perfectly soft and moist. I loved the flavor as it was a sweet cinnamon (as opposed to spicy/burning) with hints of butter. As the name implies, it did pair fantastically with a big cup of coffee on one of my weekly cheat days. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews

Stopped there to purchase a gift card for my son, who is a member. I havedone this many times in the past without issue. This time the associatewho was manning the self check (where I had previously gotten the giftcards) would not sell me a gift card. I showed her my son's accountinformation & a copy of the receipt from my latest gift card purchase. She said oh, he was a manager & way above my pay grade. She saidbecause I was not a member, I could not shop there. I told her I was notshopping, just getting a gift card. She told me my son had to be therein order for me to buy him a gift card. I said that kind of defeats the purposeto go with him, have him buy the gift card & then hand it back to him.I was on my way out, but stopped at the membership desk because I sawa manager there. The associate, who I got, didn't know so she told me to wait for the manager. Meanwhile a very nice member & I started chatting.I told her I just wanted to buy a gift card for my son. I showed her a picture of my son who is in law enforcement. I had the $100 in my hand & said it was sad that they didn't want my money. Since the manager was still busy, I told the nice woman to go ahead of me. After her transaction, she turned to me & said, I will buy the gift card for you. I asked her if she was sure & thanked her profusely. That was so kind of her! I didn't get her name, but am so grateful for her help. It is a shame that a complete stranger wasmore helpful than the paid workers at Costco. We walked out together& I did not "shop" there as the employees were so afraid I would withoutbeing a member. After this experience, I would never get a membershipat Costco.

I just returned from this Costco food court after experiencing the rudest employee I have ever met. I ordered a pizza and was told to wait roughly 30 minutes. After about 40 minutes waiting near the pizza pickup area I noticed people I had seen also order through the kiosk after I had getting their pizzas. They were not phone orders and were numbered higher on the list than I was. At this point I asked the lady at the pizza pickup if order 388 was ready yet. She asked to see my receipt and seemed a little frazzled before saying she had to check on it. She returned a few minutes later and avoided me while helping other customers with their puzzles for another 5-10 minutes before finally telling me my pizza was being put in now. She then quickly disappeared again before I could say anything. It was clear they had either forgotten my order or given it to the wrong person. I got her attention again and politely tried to ask what the expected wait would be. She appeared to be angry and kept talking in circles saying I should expect to wait 40 minutes on a busy Friday night. I told her it had been longer than that and again asked how much longer. She refused to answer and continued to angrily talk down to me. She just continued to talk in circles and avoid my simple and polite request asking how long I should expect to be waiting. I gave up and stepped back while considering asking someone else there for a refund. A few minutes later she stepped back forward and put my pizza in a box. Then in an extremely sarcastic tone exclaimed "thanks for waiting" and literally THREW the box of pizza in my direction on the counter and quickly turned away. They made a mistake I wasn't even upset over. I wanted a time estimate and this lady was ruder than any employee I have ever met anywhere. The food is good and well priced, but they should consider a more courteous and level headed employee for the pizza pickup.

Very rude at checkout several times. They rush you through and forget that you're a customer. It's like they are more concerned about hurrying you through and forget they are the last impression of your shopping experience.

Great place to buy gas and stock up on many different items. They rotate their stock regularly. Very well managed. Most items priced well.

Going to Costco is like going to a place where you can find a great combination of products. Plus, able to taste some samples. Love this place!

Really good service and really good deals on items. The only downside is now that my kids have moved out, it is too much food, but they have really good sales on electronics and office supplies, which is a big help for me...and great deals on gas prices. I switched my membership from Sam's Club to Costco because of Costco's mask policy during severe Covid. Sam's Club says it was mask optional...that makes me worry about what else is optional when they are prepping food where I can't see them. Costco from now on.
