This past April marked the very 1st time trying a TORC location along with the very 1st visit to this Buona location.

I love the fact that after eating some scrumptious grub at Buona that you don't have to travel far for dessert.

The ice cream is really good here and it's a neat idea the way the ice cream on a cone is served depending on the flavor(s)

Good prices with a decent selection of flavors in a clean new facility with friendly customer service.

A great companion to Buona and I'm glad both places are a fair driving distance from my house in Beach Park just a few short miles south of the border in Lake County.

Before this venue opened, if we were in the mood for Buona/TORC it was either trek all the way out to Lakemoor or Kildeer, sheesh! Hope this place stays in business for decades to come.

A fun little treat. There is no real seating area for the rainbow cone side. They have a decent amount of outdoor seating. It's a little pricey, but you're paying for an experience, I guess. Staff was helpful, but I got the impression that our questions were not completely welcome. The ice cream itself did not taste that different from normal ice creameries. If you're going here, try a special creation to make the price worth it.

Delicious ice cream cones served inside nifty cups that contain any drips running down. I had the Palmer House flavor. It was loaded with walnuts and cherries.

This was our first time at any Original Rainbow Cone. The person working did not know what was all in some of the flavors that we asked about. They said they didn't eat ice cream so they didn't know??!?! We still ordered, but stayed away from those "unknown" flavors. We did get two waffle cones as the worker was saying how they were made fresh every day. They definitely were not made that day as they were very stale and tasted bad. We threw them away. On top of that it is very very expensive. Almost $10 for a waffle cone with two moderate size scoops. We will not be back.

Very creative take on mixing ice cream flavors by stacking them in layers. I didn't like how it's stacked ontop of the cone so no ice cream ends up inside the cone, but overall the ice cream was very tasty and creamy.

I would have loved to try the ice cream but after standing at the register for 5 min and then asking a buona beef employee to please get someone, still no one helped us. We are not picky and can wait but there was no one at all there to help. Maybe next time.

We’ve had good experiences here a couple of times and like rainbow cone overall. I hadn’t had it prior but the original is pretty good, cosmic birthday is awesome, and they have a good root beer float as well. The original is a strange combination when you hear the different flavors I think, but somehow it works and is really good. The cosmic birthday is an awesome combination. I thought it sounded good and I asked the girl working her thoughts on it, she said it was really popular and then asked if I wanted to try a sample of the flavors together. It was very good and I got a waffle cone version of it. We’ll be back because service has always been quick and the ice cream is good. The only downside is that you can’t get it in the drive thru, but it’s worth the trip inside and they even have a few stools by the window you can sit at and enjoy your ice cream. We like it!

Didn't go inside. Expensive. Has outdoor seating. But $7 for a cone is a bit pricey. It's nothing like the original one in the Beverly neighborhood in Chicago.

We stopped after supper and had a great experience. We have a gluten allergy in our group and the staff didn't immediately know which icecream had gluten in it but they found the info, got a fresh tub of ice cream, new gloves, and a clean scoop. The ice cream was delicious and the portions are pretty big. My son's Sunday was huge.A really good experience and would definitely recommend.

Connected to a different restaurant. Rainbow Cone is very good. I had the Windy City, mint chocolate chip and chocolate it was very tasty. Will head here again. My husband had the cookies and cream. We both enjoyed it.
