Service is really slow this is a Thursday night and they not even that busy. Got my app like almost right away, but been waiting 30mins for my French onion soup. Wonder when the swordfish will actually come out or will the bring the French onion soup with the swordfish?
Waitress has not checked in on me since she took the order.
Waitress excuse was that they lost her ticket 🙄.
So she bring the French onion soup out which was barely warm.
Update almost an hour later she bring the food out and said she was helping other customers 😑.
Zero updates from waitress while I was sitting there.

This place has gone downhill. Took forever to get drinks. Food sat on the trays getting cold while server tried to figure out who got what (instead of knowing). No sign of ownership or management asking how things were. Food tepid at best for second straight year. Appear to be milking the expense accounts of hotel guests. Been a part of the annual fishing trip for over 15 years; not next year.

They accommodated our large group with short notice due to power outages elsewhere.
Service was good, food was good. I would suggest this to anyone visiting the area.

We walked into a warm and comforting atmosphere and ordered a delicious crafted cocktail at the classic wood curved bar while we waited for our table. Inside, the ambiance is cozy and feels familiar. We were led through the comforting glow of the candle lit room to our linen-draped table that provided plush seating with views of Lake Michigan.

The menu reflects supper club tradition with a focus on hearty, comforting fare: known for their prime rib but also serving other dishes like classic shrimp de Jonghe. We have been to the Corner House many times and looked forward to the small warm loaf of bread served with our salads. Tonight for our entree we each ordered the filet mignon, it seemed better than it has ever been, the flavor was amazing and it had a buttery texture that was incredibly soft and velvety, and melted in my mouth.

We will frequent the Corner House. Not only do they provide a classy more elegant dining experience inside, outside they have casual dining and a bar lakeside, or a patio off the bar that provides comfortable seating with fire tables.

The ambience was excellent, the service very good, the supporting food very good (salad, bread), the Old Fashioneds very good, and the main courses mediocre. The "signature" walleye filet was tasteless and the prime rib was nothing special for the high price. We would try many other restaurants in the area before returning here.

During our recent visit to Corner House on the Lake in Racine, we enjoyed a classic supper club experience that exceeded our expectations. The evening began with a shrimp cocktail, featuring fresh jumbo shrimp served with a tangy cocktail sauce--a delightful start to our meal. Our salads were crisp and well-prepared, accompanied by their house Parmesan peppercorn that added a flavorful touch. The highlight was the prime rib, renowned for its tenderness and rich flavor. Cooked to perfection, it was juicy and seasoned just right, living up to its reputation as some of the best in the area. The accompanying baked potato was generously sized, fluffy, and complemented the entrée perfectly. The ambiance of the restaurant, with its charming lakeside setting, added to the overall dining experience. Amazing cocktails too! The service was attentive and friendly, ensuring that we felt welcomed throughout our visit. For those seeking a traditional supper club atmosphere with excellent food and service, Corner House on the Lake is a must-visit!

Went to the Corner House on the Lake tonight with my best friend. We got there at 5:18pm and didn't get seated or get out of there until after 9:30pm. We were told 30 minute wait and the place decided not to take reservations tonight for New Years Eve. We were waiting 40 minutes and asked how much longer and he said he could give us a table at the bar and we asked him how much longer without taking that table and he said 10 minutes tops, then an hour went by and my friend went to ask how much longer and Sue the hostess got real cocky with him and said we turned down the table they offered and now you will have to wait atleast 2 hours cause we turned down the bar table. So we ended up taking a bar table. She has a horrible attitude to be working with the public. They would be better without her. Then our French baked onion soup was cold and the cheese was barely melted on top and the Prime Rib was also cold. None of this would have happened if they were better organized. I love Corner House and their food but this was just a bad night for them. Will I be going back there again, absolutely... Maybe next year they will just do the Reservations. Hopefully they learned a lesson

It is a beautiful restaurant and our waitress was absolutely lovely. The food on the other hand was horrible. Frozen mushrooms with globs of what I assume was supposed to be bechamel on top but was really just flour paste, It had no flavor no texture and was quite gross. I ordered a steak medium. It went back twice came back both times burnt down the outside raw on the inside. First time and last time there unfortunately.

I have been coming to Corner House since I was a kid. My family and I were there 12.22.2024 and I was very disappointed. We made a reservation and we stood by the front door for 10 minutes before we were greeted. She then walked away for 5 minutes to find us a table. We sat down and it was another 15 minutes before we even were given water. This is where I was truly irritated, when did corner house change to plastic water glasses? I was shocked. You are paying at least $50.00-$65.00 per plate and being served like we are on a picnic table. The prime rib also came on a plastic plate and why didn't the silverware match? Where were we? Chili's??? So very sad. The prime rib was good but not outstanding as usual. I am not sure we will return.

We had our family Christmas party last night. The evening was disappointing to say the least. The baked French onion soup was the highlight.

Drinks were extremely slow to come out. It was not busy either. When meals came, my baked potato was grossly overcooked, yellow in color. Tuna was one of the worst I’ve ever had. I told my server and was told to tell the owner who was downstairs. I went and told the owner and his reply was the potatoes are on a timer so it’s impossible and did you
Get what you ordered????

We were going to order dessert however was not spending another dime there. Checks were another issue. How hard is it to split checks by families? WE TOLD THEM THAT IN THE Beginning! Took several tries to get it right. Will definitely not be back. First and last time there!

I can’t believe I just gave The Corner House only 4 stars and not 5, but with the change of plastic water glasses instead of the beautiful glass goblets that has been the standard for eons… I had no choice. I have noticed the subtle downgrade of some things in the restaurant including the food. It’s not horrible, but not the standard quality of years past. When I was there last weekend, I ordered pasta and on the edge of my bowl was a long, albeit tender, bread stick. I thought this was strange, because I immediately had to remind myself that I was not at the chain Italian restaurant in town. Something changed in the last couple of years (definitely not related to covid) and I’m not sure what, but it’s sad to see a Racine Institution slide slowly downhill.
(I implore you though… please have the water service served in the glass goblets again, the plastic just makes the whole experience tacky)

Had the French onion soup there and that was disappointing .. there was no flavor and the bread and cheese were not tasty at all. The wine was a bit sour like it had been open for a while, then on top of everything they had soad water to their old fashioneds and don't even muddle a cherry in it. Honestly don't bother. Over priced for sub par quality food.

Food: Not worth their price. My wife and I had char prime rib and chopped steak. Prime rib was rather chewy and didn’t have robust flavor at all. I honestly thought it was not very different from the ones you get at Texas Roadhouse.. Chopped steak was bland, nothing much going on there either. Chicken and rice soup and french onion soups were super super salty. Just gave up after a couple spoons. Bread was slightly undercooked, and just okay too. Food was just disappointing overall.
Despite their mediocre quality at best, they still charge you like a steakhouse. I would rather find a proper steakhouse in the city than going here.

Atmosphere: Okay but not great. I was hoping for a nice lake view, but it was full of docked boats, and nothing special. Restaurant atmosphere was just okay, but the music was all over the place - from jazz, to disco, to rock. It was chaotic and bizarre.

Service: Probably the worst part. If they charge you like a steakhouse, then you’d expect similar services. But, like others have said, they serve you on plastic dish and cups. Silverware was all non-matching and tacky. The server dropped butter on the floor when bringing out the bread. He didn’t explain the menu at all or even looked at us when I was ordering because he was too busy looking down at the little device to punch in the items you ordered. He also didn’t tell us what’s included in the meal or what’s for extra charge, so I was charged $3 extra for switching out the dressing. These little odd things added up to just a poor impression overall. No offense, but I thought even olive garden servers are trained better than these guys. Oh, to top it all off, there is no free parking, so you are forced to park at the garage structure for $3.5 which they do not validate AND you get charged 3% of your total bill by using your credit card. I had a good laugh out of this lol

I’m not from Racine, and I made the travel to check this place out. I would never recommend doing that, unless you are already staying at the inns right next to it or just passing by and you are desperately wanting a prime rib lol
