Glamorous upgrade to 'lake view dining' with steak, seafood dishes, and ice cream-infused drinks
Service was so slow. Server was inattentive. She acted like we were bothering her. Had the roast duck so dry it tasted like it was old. So sorry to say this it used to be better.
Probably the best views from a supper club in WI. The inside is very cool lots of old pics rooms etc. Can't argue any of that. That's as far as it goes. Food is avg idc what others say. It is what it is. And you better be ready to spend $150+ a person especially if you drink. Much better options all around SE WI if you want better food at a better price.
Skip this place! There are too many other supper clubs that are better.
We walk in early for our reservation with the intent of grabbing a drink in the bar. Great atmosphere! Beautiful views of the lake too.
There were three bartenders and maybe ten people at the bar. It took ten minutes for any of the bartenders to even acknowledge we were sitting there. We order a round of drinks and the bartender couldn’t find the top to the shaker so he just put his hand over the top and shook the cocktail.
We get seated and order another round of drinks which took 20 minutes to come out. The waitress said the bar was slammed. We have a view to the bar and it was empty. When the drinks came they were warm martinis.
We order apps to start but were then told that she can’t place any food on the table until the menus were cleared. So many rules.
Three of us order the prime rib and it was so under cooked. It was tough as can be and the fat was not rendered at all. If you are a Wisconsin supper club and you can’t make a solid prime rib then you should reconsider being in business. We sent them back and the waitress said that because we started eating them that she couldn’t credit the entire entree from the bill.
Really just a shame that the service and food were lacking. I hear it is under relatively new ownership. The new owners have a lot to learn about the restaurant business and treating the customer right.
The food is Hit or miss. Very expensive, so it all should come out perfect. The chicken oscar was overcooked, and the augratin potatoes were overcooked. The brandy alexander was not as good as others I've had. The rest of the meals were good.
We have eaten here several times and it gets better each visit. The staff is very friendly, the hostess was kind enough to arrange for us to dine in the main bar with the most amazing view, our server Connor was fantastic and fun and the food was impeccable. Well worth the drive from Illinois for a wonderful dining experience, world class views from the bar. Absolutely beautiful!
We have always enjoyed the HobNob, but our dining experience was less than adequate. Our server was very attentive, but the food was miserable. We ordered garlic cheese bread and what came out was a loaf of white bread -with melted cheese on top - nasty, baked French onion soup, which lacked taste and you are charged more, the Cesar salad was good and came with anchovies, so that was plus, but my house salad was was soggy and made w/cheap iceberg lettuce . We ordered medium rare prime rib and filet and the prime rib came out well done. When asked for a medium rare piece we were told that the cooks overcooked the prime rib and that medium and well done were the only choices for the evening. So we sent it back. My filet looked like a sirloin steak and the au gratin potatoes were nothing more than mashed potatoes with melted cheese on top. The twice baked potato was a winner. At least the old fashions were good and the grasshopper ice cream drink was ok, but not how they used to make them - not as large and no creme de menthe poured on top, but rather all blended together. We didn’t get a discount or free dessert for the prime rib mishap. Very disappointing - we will not be going back. For what they charge, there are plenty of other places to choose from.
Our server, Alexis, was polite, professional and very knowledgeable of the menu. We never went more than 5 mins without food after finishing a dish, very prompt service! Our appetizer was the Italian meatballs with marinara sauce and Italian bread which were amazing! My wife ordered the blackened chicken Alfredo with baked French onion soup, which she loved. I ordered the walleye perch Friday fish fre with baked French onion soup and a twice baked potato - 10/10 on every single bite of food we had last night. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Very nice supper club
On our recent visit, it certainly did not live up to its reputation. Started upon entering, greeted by a very cold, haughty (yet elegant and very well dressed) woman who did not appear to be happy to see anyone. Food was mediocre, husband's steak weirdly seemed like the steaks they served at Ponderosa back in the day. I had the chicken Oscar, which was bland, small, smothered in sauce with barely any of the seafood stuffing. Asparagus was limp and steamed. Soup, salad, and dinner rolls were like those served at assisted living centers. Service was ok, a bit rushed but that was fine because we didn't feel like lingering. Other than the spectacular view of Lake Michigan, there's really nothing remarkable about this place anymore. Too bad.

We enjoyed Mother's Day at Hobnob. We were seated in the back at an adorable bistro table facing the lake. We felt welcomed and well cared for. My cosmo was perfection. The Italian wedding soup was delicious. Salad was good. Rolls were fresh and warm. I ordered the filet Oscar which was fabulous. My filet melted in my mouth. So tender and cooked perfectly. My husband tried weinerschnitzel and was happy. The quality of our meal and overall experience was 5 star. Normally on a holiday we may encounter a glitch somewhere- not today! Highly recommend.
We had reservations for 4 o’clock. Waited to be seated till about 4:30 waited at least a good hour and a half before we got our food. We all ordered ham dinners my ham was good but 2 of the other dinners the ham was tough. All of our carrots were very hard and the taste was not good so we all didn’t eat the carrots. I would say i probably wouldn’t eat here again especially for the prices and quality of the food.
Where do I begin. We arrived on Easter Sunday at 1:50 for our 2pm reservation which they said they didn’t have. Made reservation weeks ago. Sat around 2:30. They had a special Easter Brunch which they were out of several of the items. Placed our orders and it took FOREVER to get our cold very mediocre food. No explanations, no sorry it’s taking forever. The manager(assuming she was a manager) side eyed us a couple times, never made eye contact never came to our table to apologize or ask how things were. We didn’t get our food for well over 2 hours and like I said it was cold and terribly expensive for what they served us. Soup was cold prior to our meals as well. They forgot one of our appetizers and a side, but it was sure on the bill. Do not recommend.
We have not been at The Hob Nob since it has changed hands. We thought we would give it a try. Never thought we would be as disappointed as we were tonight. I was still eating my salad when the server asked me if I was done with my salad lol. That was fine. It actually made me laugh and I said sure I’m done and I handed it to her. But the white fish that I had was so bad, it tasted so fishy it was hard to even eat. The New York strip my husband ordered was fat and gristle. My granddaughter had the spaghetti which tasted like tomato paste over elbow macaroni. All in all It was a big disappointment. I have never complained at the Hob Nob until tonight. I was not asking for a refund or anything to be taken off of my bill. All I said was the fish was not good at all and I left it at that.The server said she would take it off the bill and we paid the bill, left a nice tip and we will most likely never go back. Sad but I hope others have had a better experience and it will continue to thrive because it once was something great! ❤️
I ordered a filet and I had to send it back because it was not a filet and it was all fatty and flat I told waiter who was new and didn’t know what a filet looked like. I returned for another and it was the same just fatty blob of meat!! Everything else was bad as well! Not the same I always loved going there and I won’t go back!!
