Restaurant was temporarily closed. No info on when it will reopen. It's been one of our favorite cafes for at least 10 years. We stop whenever we are in the area.

My family's been going to the Road Runner since it was a 24-hour/day truck stop when the only thing in Pojoaque was the Runner and La Mesita across the highway. . My long-time favorite is the green chile chicken enchilada , with the best sopapillas in the county, and American-style endless cups of coffee with cream. Their (all day) breakfast burritos, smothered or handheld, and menudo are, around here, considered the breakfasts of champions. And for non-locals, they have a nice patty melt.

Breakfast and Brunch! Great authentic NM breakfast at very reasonable prices. Sopapillas with honey too! Huevos Rancheros, my favorite!

We were looking for a place to eat, since all the crazy people were in Santa Fe...where we could just enjoy the food. And we hit a home run. This place is very down home. Cooking for the locals. But the food was delicious. I had the cheese enchilads, with and egg, and N Mex Red Chile Gravy ---so good. I even ate the rice, and I hate rice, it was so good. Hubby had Huevos Rancheros and eggs --- again very very good. They said they were busy, so we expected a wait, but the service and the food all were delivered quicker than some of the big chain resturants. So when driving between Taos and Santa Fe--- look to the west side of the road and pull over.
