Mellem's Fish House

Very little amount of fish and shrimp inside very thick batter. Baked potato was very good. We'd. Even there several years ago and it was so much better!

Great fish and great food!

This is a quintessential "greasy spoon" establishment! Excellent selection, taste, prices and service. The ambiance was simple, friendly, nautical. A perfect dining experience in a small town!

I'm not big on writing reviews that point out the negatives, but Sarah and I almost didn't enter this facility.The food was ok, but nothing special, and not as good as Sarah cooks at home. The service was simple, average, and adequate by the owner.The air conditioner directly to our left above our table had a filthy filter that almost caused us to not order. We asked that it not be turned on because of it's looks.I'm sure this facility and the family are struggling to stay open.

Parking: Parking was directly in front of the diner, easily accessible and near the street so easy to find.

This place is a hidden gem of Richland Center! We went here for the first time and were very impressed! The service was great! The waitress was busy but always friendly and checked up on us still. The food was amazing! My husband got shrimp and fried chicken. The shrimp was huge! I had bbq ribs and the meat was so tender and the sauce was good, too. The homemade cheese curds, with the light, homemade batter was great! To top it all off, the prices were very reasonable!

Wow! The food is better then I remembered!!! The fish is absolutely amazing and the staff was sooo polite and pleasant!!!!

Great food and great service! Best cheese curds I’ve ever had! The fish was delicious & they are the only restaurant I have come across in Wisconsin that had malt vinegar for the fish. Don’t let the old building fool you. Definitely recommend ?

Fish was good its nice that you can get other sides without getting potatoes.

I measure all fried fish against theirs and only one has come close (the Thorpedo in Thorp, WI). Yummy cheese curds. Nice little family restaurant with a supper club feel but the main business is carry out as that's what we do in the age of Covid. Been going here since it was Henning's Fish House in the 80s and 90s. I hope they never go out of business. If they do, I'll have to buy the fish beer batter recipe and make my own.
