Visiting aera for first time. Last day open for season. Giving away free ice-cream for Halloween. Great ice cream and excellent service. Very friendly and its decor was top notch. I recommend it highly
The best ice cream malt ever.
First time here being from the MPLS area. Really neat place ice cream flavors lots to pick from. And bald school candy and shirts and clothes and stuffed animals. And homemade treats like peanut butter cups.
Staff was very friendly. Went at an off peak time so no wait.
Would definitely go back and try some more flavors of ice cream. Generous scoops too!

I just don’t get the popularity of this place. Or maybe it’s really just for people from Illinois who don’t know any better? I don’t know. But Illinoisans are people too, and they don’t deserved to be ripped off. You guys, this is literally Cedar Crest. That’s no knock on Cedar Crest, don’t get me wrong. But Cathy’s prices are Chocolate Shoppe or Purple Door prices. And for what they’re charging, you would think they would be able to afford for an employee to occasionally wipe down a table. Instead, they leave baby wipes out for customers to wipe down the tables themselves.
If you’re looking for a nice, reasonably priced scoop of Cedar Crest served in a friendly, clean establishment, do yourself a favor and head to Elmer’s instead.
