Lovely location and delicious food with great service!
I came in on a Sunday night while on a trip and we had a 15 minute wait for a table, which was faster than I'd anticipated seeing so many cars in the parking lot.
After we got our table, I realized we would need to leave faster than I'd anticipated due to an 8pm check-in time at our hotel in Baraboo (~30 minutes away) and let them know. The servers were so helpful making sure we got all our food and the check right away so we could enjoy our dinner without stressing about the time.
We forgot to take any photos of the food but enjoyed all of it, even if the meal was faster than we'd planned.

I was there for an anniversary celebration. There wasn't a wait for a table and was open bar. The food was pretty good, although a bit salty. it was buffet style, basically comfort your food. Service was great and the old fashioned yummy!

We stopped by after hiking at Devil's Lake because we didn't want fast food or regular bar food. Relaxing and delicious. Don't skip this place! Bar is open prior to dining room, which opens at 4:30.

Dorf Haus is a hidden gem in Roxbury, about 25 miles northwest of Madison—and well worth the drive. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with old-school German charm and warm hospitality. Our server, Cathy, was terrific—helpful, fun, and a joy to talk with. Our dinners were excellent; the Wiener schnitzel was perfectly prepared, and the salads fresh and flavorful. I especially appreciated Cathy’s suggestion of a superb white wine, Gewurztraminer, crafted by Wollersheim Winery, just a few miles away. In a restaurant landscape dominated by national brands, Dorf Haus is truly special, and more than a dinner—it’s an unforgettable experience.

We enjoy Dorf Haus about once a month or so and its always a good time. Starting with a mug of delicious beer, then moving to the dining room to sample some fantastic German specialities. I like the Bavarian sausage platter, and my wife alternates between one of the schnitzles or rouladen. You should definitely give this place a try, just dont go on the night Im trying to get a table! Lol.

Over the last 15 years we've been here 3 times. The family run restaurant is one of our top picks for a nice evening. The owners and staff are wonderful. The food, atmosphere and German beer are too. Their Jaeger Schnitzel is amazing. St Norbert's church across the street adds to the beauty.

First time and we’ll definitely be back. Husband had the rouladen which was excellent the potato pancake lacked flavor tho. I had the jager schnitzel the veal was cooked to perfection .Overall everything was good. Parking lot was busy but don’t let it fool you we were promptly seated, as this place is huge. Next time we will sit at the bar it looked really cool.

We had an incredible experience at Dorf Haus! We had an hour and 20 minute wait for a table but that didn’t bother us at all. There were plenty of seats at the bar and we enjoyed a drink while waiting. We enjoyed chatting with the bartenders a bit. It also gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted to eat! Once we were seated, we ordered right away and the food was perfectly paced. You must order the cheese plate - best cheese spread we’ve ever had! The entries were incredible, especially the fried chicken. Everything was perfect from the food and service to the atmosphere. You must visit if you’re in the area and do not let the wait times scare you off - it’s well worth the wait!!
