Not only are these the best coffee beans in Dane County but the owner is a really nice guy and a pillar of the community. They set the standard for how small businesses should be!

We are very fortunate to have John Joseph coffee in our community - it’s just the best. Due to health reasons I need to drink half/caf and it’s so nice to be able to choose my favorite grounds to blend rather than big store off the shelf with only one choice. I also love being able to buy fresh coffee at an affordable price.

A complete waste of money and coffee. While visiting the area, I tried a cup of their ski-Hi blend while shopping at Ski-Hi and it was good so I bought a bag of their ground bourbon roast and couldn’t wait to brew it when I got home later that week. I opened the bag up to find that it wasn’t actually ground but big chunks of beans that weren’t completely ground. I called to inform the establishment and the owner apologized and was nice enough to send me another bag and to my surprise this new bag was the SAME consistency. Big chunks. I wouldn’t have any idea what their bourbon roast actually tastes like because attempting to brew big chunks would turn out to be watery and flavorless. Very disappointed. Luckily, we found another good coffee place for next time we are visiting.

Everything you've heard about small-town charm is true here! Not only was the coffee delicious, but the atmosphere is one of community!

Stopped by as we were passing through from out of town. Amazing coffee! Left with a bag of coffee to take home! Definitely worth a visit!

John really cares about the coffee he roasts, and he cares even more about people within this community. He's a delightful guy!On top of that, the coffee is amazing. I tend to go for a lighter roast and I grind my beans at home. I pick up what I need as I need it - but there is always a wide variety of roasts available, sourced responsibly and sustainability from all around the world.Buy a bag of beans or have it ground before you go!

If you're driving through Sauk City/Prairie du Sac and wondering where to get a fresh roasted coffee, this little gem is only one block off Water Street and is well worth a stop. It's unique and warm in terms of coffee, vibe, and people.

Best coffee roasters in the area! Don't be put off by the unassuming exterior, once you step inside John Joseph Coffee you're greeted with a friendly Midwest chic atmosphere, smelling of the delicious fresh roasted coffee beans that are sold here. They always have a pot ready to go if you're just in need of a refreshing cup of coffee, but I would find it difficult to leave without some Bold Eagle beans for myself at home. There is limited seating but for a small group of friends this would be a nice place to relax and play some of the available board games.I truly can't recommend their coffee enough.

Coffee is awesome! They focus on combing beans from different regions and roasting them! Very unique flavors. Owners are friendly and ambiance is awesome! Nothing better than the smell of freshly roasted beans.
