My husband and I stopped here after a long day of hiking and exploring Ironwood MI and Saxon area. We read the reviews on Google and they were all really good so we popped in. It was Monday at 5pm. There was 1 gentleman at the bar and the bartender (owner). We were greeted and served drinks right away. Service was excellent! All of our needs met. Nice corner bar with additional tables and hightop table seating. Looked like an outdoor area was set up with canopy and picnic tables but we didn't ask about it. Bar was comfortable, bartender was friendly, fast, efficient, great conversation with everyone at the bar. We had a cheeseburger and popcorn chicken with fries. Cheeseburger was charbroiled to perfection. Perfect size 1/3? burger. Popcorn chicken was your average bar popcorn chicken, which is exactly what I wanted - nothing fancy. Fries were homemade - not my favorite but they were good! Overall, great place to stop and we will be back to try some of the specials. Follow on Facebook!!

Awesome Fish Fry tonight! Thank you!
Friendly staff and customers, really good food, decent prices.
This bar was featured in the Wisconsin book "Bottoms Up", a book about historic bars and taverns throughout the state. This place does not disappoint. The original mahogany bar still stands - although it was originally moved in from another saloon in the U.P. when the building was built in the 20 's. The upstairs is largely believed to have been a brothel during the decades that Hurley was known for gambling, prostitution, and saloons. Now, however, the building stands as a testament to a former era of beautiful old tavern style. It is fun to just go have a drink inside knowing the nearly 100 years of history you are sitting in. Pool tables available.
Norita is great!
