I love El Tequila's, every booth, table, and chair are a piece of art. Its absolutely beautiful inside. The staff are always very friendly, I unfailingly have a delightful experience everytime I eat here. The food is very delicious with prices that never disappoint. My partner and I spend around $30-$40. The food here is real authentic Mexican food. Overall I 100% recommend eating here at least a few times!
Ok. Well.... ambiance is totally tourist mexicana, and LOUD. Wait staff is attentive enough. Food was AWEFUL. I mean like not even TacoBell worthy. I got a plate with a grilled browned tortilla with pepperjack cheese inside, a burrito with canned beans inside, a tamale with pepper jack cheese inside. Canned red sauce poured on top. Popped into a microwave. No garnish, no nothing. I had an upset stomach, both ends, for 2 days! The other meals, although different orders were the same, see pic. Dumpy parking lot, no handicapped parking. Messy inside, trash on floor, dirty looking kitchen. This was hugely disappointing because @ El Jefe's, sister business, the food is great! $20bucks bye bye, Wow. I lived in Albuquerque for 13yrs, raised in Austin /San Antonio, Texas. NOT remotely authentic. What was I thinking? Don't eat at Tequila when you can go to Taco Smell cheaper! Blech.
