Best food I think I've ever had at a restaraunt. Was skeptical at first, but absolutely wondered by my meal. Big Sky salad is a must. Atmosphere is absolutely solid. Eating with wine can make you tired, and the lighting was perfect to keep me alert. White linen, unique art, and craftful dining specials come together to make your dinner an experience rather than another part of your day. I've eaten at places like this all over the country, and the personal touches (food, hospitality, and environment) put Big Sky quite a few steps ahead of the competition. Cannot reccomend enough!

My best friend and I met here for dinner for the second time in May, 2021, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience once again. I was born in Stoughton but have lived in CO since 1979, and the year before COVID hit, I discovered this restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere was incredible, so this year my friend and I met here again for dinner while I was home for a visit. (Home because WI will always be home to me.) The food here is incredible! For me to call food incredible, it must look, smell, and taste great, and Big Sky checks all the boxes. We both enjoyed a glass of good wine, salad, entree and shared a desert. The tables were beautifully set, the lighting was perfect, the decorating was tastefully done, and the restaurant is cozy but never feels crowded. Also, service was wonderful; and even though we were the last to leave because we had so much to talk about, the management and/or staff never hurried us. There are many opportunities for fine dining in any large city; however, finding a gem like Big Sky in little-ole Stoughton was truly an unexpected blessing. For fine-dining, the price was also very reasonable - here where I live, that same meal would probably have been almost twice the price. Also, two female friends meeting for dinner in a large city can bring on some anxiety just because of safety issues. Traveling to Madison would have been easy and quick; but walking back to a parked car in a lot with who-knows-who hanging out around a corner can make females feel especially vulnerable. Here in Stoughton, however, I never felt unsafe, and parking is always close. Hopefully, people from Madison and all points north, south, east, and west will read this review and quickly make a reservation with Big Sky. Although it would be a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion, I encourage you not to wait but to experience Big Sky as soon as possible. You will not be disappointed. Janice

Oh what a random surprise this was, and boy was it good.GF and I went to Viking Brew Pub but was super busy, saw this place was open across the street, looked up reviews, of course they're good, so we go.Order our drinks THEN look at the menu and both of us were debating on leaving. Pretty expensive meals. Nothing under 20 dollars but we decided eh screw it, if they're charging prices like this and were able to survive covid-19 and the competition around Stoughton, it HAS to be good.GF got some Chicken Terryaki with a habenero sweet sauce and jasmine rice. I don't know what or how he made that rice but, I'm 34 and I've never had rice that fluffy and airy. It was so light and perfect it was like scooping up clouds into your mouth. HOW DO YOU MAKE RICE THAT GOOD!?! ITS JUST RICE!! The chicken was very well cooked, not dry at all. The sauce....what a perfect blend of sweet and spicy, but not too spicy that it killed your tastebuds.I got the shrimp scampi pasta. I don't think I've ever seen shrimp that big. I was a little disheartened to see it only had a few in the pasta and pulled one up and was like oh my god, I can just cut these guys into chunks. The sauce was perfect, just PERFECT. I'm a s***** for shrimp scampi and that butter garlic sauce was just heaven.Oh I'm not done yet, lets talk about the bread they give you. I think it's sour dough? But they throw it into the oven when you get there. Comes out a very nice crispy crust but the inside is just pillow soft. We were geeking out over the bread the entire time. The service? Incredible. Waiter was fun and attentive. The wife of the chef was out checking on people, when we told her how good the food was, she brought her husband out (the chef) to introduce him and we just unloaded on his ears about how good the food was.Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? OH, HELL, YES.I've never eaten at an upscale place like this before, so maybe I don't understand how it works, but we ordered a bottle of wine but it came 3/4 full. I assumed when you order a bottle of wine you'd get the whole thing.

Absolutely wonderful! My partner surprised me with dinner here last weekend, and I can’t say how great everything was! Nancy is such a kind and humble person, and so knowledgeable about the food and drinks she has. The scallops are like no other! Never frozen, large and delicious! The shrimp is to die for! The service was amazing, and the vibe of the restaurant was fabulous! Thank you so much, Nancy! A little piece of Montana, right here in Stoughton.

A quintessential diner! Great menu, warm friendly staff, great location!

Overall, I found the food to be exceptionally tasty, with the exception of the tripe stew. The winner of the night was those Pipikaula style short ribs. Packed with such a beefy flavor, the ribs were slightly fried with a bare minimum exterior crust. I made the mistake by ordering the small portion. Next time, I'll go large. Go big or go home!

I love this place! It's very good and prices are reasonable. I especially like the PB & J burger. It's soooo good! My husband likes the etouffee. I'm from Louisiana and even I think it's good. I wish that the place was a little bigger
