Very good. Small menu small place and don’t be in a hurry but service was excellent as well as the food. Definitely will go back.

Delicious food. Just expect a wait as it is a small dining area and a small staff. Staff is a little less than friendly but they are efficient.

Great place for Breakfast!!!!The waitress was absolutely amazing, as she was taking orders, serving and checking patrons out. All while keeping the coffee flowing and I believe helping cook some of the food. Phenomenal service for being the only one on the floor.Food was cooked to perfection!!!!Will definitely be back for breakfast anytime I'm in the area.

We called in on a Monday lunchtime, out of term-time, and the cafe was pretty full. We had teas, a sausage ciabatta and the greek salad wrap. All very nice, if not particularly remarkable. Service a little slow, but nothing too irksome and hey, bravo for at least being open when other eateries aren't!

Plus points first of all: 1) Nice sausage ciabatta 2) Waiting staff were pleasant. Order was taken quickly. The drinks arrived a short time later but food took a further 45 minutes to arrive. Upon reminding that we were still waiting for the food, a scone was offered in the meantime....mmm. Given the place at this point was not busy it is assumed that the order had been overlooked. Perhaps, explains why the poached eggs were underdone. Feedback was given when paying though not sure it registered.

Passed quite a few times and today as it was the only place open so we give it a go. With it being new years day it was quite empty and pleased it was. We waited an age for coffees which were lovely and the breakfast sandwiches took even longer, in fact by the time they came we had finished our coffee. It is certainly not the cheapest place in W/B the bacon and sausage sandwiches were five pounds fifty each which is a rip off. Before eleven am at Costa Coffee two minutes walk away a bacon or sausage sandwich and a Latte coffee for two is ten pounds twenty In Rustic Cup it cost us seventeen pounds twenty a massive difference in cost.

Visited this week with friends. Coffee is amazing but service can be slow. We waited 20 minutes for someone to come take our order and we had to ask in the end. Food is very nice but portions are tiny for the price. £9-10 for a small sandwich or poached eggs squashed onto 1 slice of sourdough whereas other places in Whitley bay offer similar prices for amazing food and double the portion size. Staff seem friendly and cafe is clean with a good atmosphere.

We visited Rustic Cup a couple of times on a weekend away. We had coffees and breakfasts and both were great! Lovely staff, great coffee and enjoyable atmosphere. Will certainly be back!

We called in for a cuppa. The cakes were very pricey. The service was ok. Its a bit pretentious, but the drinks (tea and a hot chocolate) were good.

Lovely spot, never been before but will definitely be back. Friendly staff, really good coffee and a good selection for breakfast. The little one and the dog seemed to like it too.

Great place for breakfast! Friendly staff, fair prices and good portions. For those that have a big appetite try the Saari special, you won’t be disappointed.
