The place and food are great. Pat our server was great too. The oldies they play for music in the bar is a BIG negative. I'm young and don't want to hear this sleepy music while being out with younger friends. They all complained. This type of music is good for steak houses, but not a nice and fun neighborhood place. A four star for food and service. 2 stars for ambiance.

We were told to try your restaurant but faced some disappointment.Deep fried and pan-fried perch were overcooked, unfortunately!I would expect a Market Price item from the menu to be cooked to its perfection.I did notice people around me enjoying their time chit-chating and did not want to have any conversation with your staff that can interrupt thier time.Atmosphere is nice, but I would also focus on food.

What's not to love about Remingtons? From the warm welcome from the owners, Amy (and Bob who isn't typically at the restaurant although you can almost guarantee to see Amy there wearing every hat!), to the attentive, thoughtful, and efficient wait staff (Bruce is generous with his affection, eager to give great service, and will make you laugh out loud! Pat is gentle and patient with my kids, always making sure to bring a surprise item to the table to make them feel special. Garrett at the bar area is warm, thorough, prompt and never in too much of a rush to indulge my chitchat nature), to the delicious home cooked reminiscent menu, this place is our family favorite. I have 3 young kids 6 and under and whenever we have a chance to eat out, the kids unanimously choose Remingtons. The vibe is so much fun, too. If you're looking for late night drinks, Remingtons kitchen closes at 10 but the bar is open until between 12-2am. Recommended food dishes are the warm pretzel and cheese which is a kid favorite, the French onion soup is to die for an so so cheesy, the buffalo wrap is my husbands go to, and I love trying their specials! On Friday's we love going for the fish fry. The beer battered cod literally gives me life. 100/10 definitely recommend trying if you're in the area and if you're local, think about making this your new regular spot.

Rumor on the street is Remingtons has some excellent Za.. so you know what I do? I get some za from here! And boy did it hit. Top 2 pizza I've had in Mequon. They make your standard milwuakee crust and the sauce is pretty good. No flop on the za which is always a plus for me. Will def be going back for their za

We had our company Christmas party here. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting - really enjoyed the fire pit outside. The waitstaff was probably the most incredible thing. There were so many of them and they were so attentive and friendly. If we needed something they went to get it immediately. You didn't need to hunt them down to remind them. Highly recommend to anyone.

Remington's River Inn is a small bar/restaurant located on the Mequon river themed to, what can only be described as northern Wisconsin.I have been here several different times, and every time the food has tasted significantly different. The calamari steak tastes greasy and burnt. Absolutely awful. The shrimp de jonghe is okay at best. For 30 dollars I would hope to get more than four shrimp. The sauce tasted like dirty cheap butter. Then they top it off with what can only be described as, half a crouton. The mashed potatoes where very dry and somehow crunchy. Almost as if they have been microwaved. The planked salmon was completely flavorless. Absolutely no seasonings. The salmon "sauce" tasted like nothing but horseradish and cream. Fries are usually soggy and taste like old oil. Their burgers however are very delicious. But you have a 50/50 chance of it being overcooked. Water usually tastes old and dirty. Like they scooped right from the river out back. The Dr. Pepper is very sweet, almost like cotton candy. The chicken tenders are almost always dry. And taste frozen and pre-cooked. In fact everything that involves chicken is very dry. The nachos are usually dry and greasy, feels like food I could make at home. The Cobb salad always has a good amount of food and is your best bang for the buck. The Mac and cheese is always to die for. Add chicken to it and it's even better. The steak sandwich is always very juicy and has an amazing sauce on it. I'm a big fan of Ruben sandwiches so of course I recommend it. The baked French onion soup, has cheese over the top, which is either overcooked or undercooked. It makes it greasy. But the soup itself is absolutely incredible. Now let's talk service. The service is wonderful... As long as you do not get Debra as a server. She is nice, but very inattentive. She also smells like cigarettes, badly. The other servers are always very nice and check in regularly. Taylor is the nicest and most helpful. When they serve food they often prioritize the children, which is great. But the kids food is overpriced. Anything other than kids food takes almost 30-40 minutes, on a slow day, to get my food. Drinks can take even longer. When sitting in the bar or closer to the kitchen, you can hear everything they say. They swear a lot, and make fun of each other constantly. Sometimes they sing very loudly which me nor my family enjoys. It seems they spend more time talking then they do cooking. Recently there has been a new kid named Tyler and some guy named David. They seem to make fun of them constantly. Whether it be the bartender Bruce, someone in the serving window, or people in the kitchen. The Tyler kid looks 14 at best. Which is absolutely no age for a kid to work. I don't know the names of others in the kitchen, only them, because they make fun of them constantly.Next the atmosphere, the place is very warm and cozy. It has a nice cabin like feel and I enjoy it. The walls and decor have been very well kept. By the front door/bar they have video gambling. Why? It feels almost as if they don't make enough money that they must have machines to steal money from you. Other than that, they have a very nice rock grotto. Beautifully built, and furnished with nice couches and chairs.I have had a chance to meet the owner, Amy, She is a very nice lady who not only puts on effort to treat the guests well, but the staff too. Parking can be a nightmare at times, especially on a busy night. The door does have a wheelchair ramp leading up to it which I do enjoy. The reason I gave this place such a low score, is because of the food being inconsistent, several staff members, the kitchen being loud, long wait times, and drinks tasting bad.In conclusion,Remington's River Inn is a nice restaurant, however I don't recommend coming here more than once. There are much better restaurants you can go to, less than a block away. You're favorite reviewer,Corn Dog Reviews

Good service, waitress friendly and attentive. We were at Remington's on a Saturday evening and although it was 6:30, the TV was on (ok) but the sound was also on and on loudly. We didn't realize that Remington's was a sports bar. The GB Packers were not even playing ... the game was between 2 other teams from the east coast. Although we planned to have dinner, we finished our drinks and appetizer and left. If you are looking to watch and hear any football games - play by play, like being in the commentators box, this is the place to go.

Bruce is the absolutely best bar tender / person I have met in a long time. Great personality, so enjoyable. Restaurant had a beautiful essence. Loved the special and the steak sandwich! Yum! We are so coming back.

2 out of 5 members of our table were served. 10 minutes later other tables that arrived after us were being served while the remainder of our table still had not been served. We asked Debra our server about this and she responded that she was the only server ( I saw at least 2 others taking orders in the same area)She then started “ if you’re not happy don’t come back.”Good advice Debra, we won’t come back.
