My husband and I just had dinner at the Cheel and it was an amazing experience. We started out with the lamb momo and baingan bharta, which we easily devoured alongside the tangy tamarind and kenema aachars. I had the paneer and my husband had the thali - both equally amazing. The piro piro drink was refreshing. Just as good as the food was the impeccable staff and ambiance. The music and lighting throughout the restaurant felt like a metropolitan dining experience. Thank you the Cheel for proving such a wonderful experience in our community. We will soon be back!

This place cancelled a dinner reservation on us! We made a payment of $600 to join one of their events and they cancelled on us day of. We have family who traveled out of town to attend this event and now we have to plan for something new. I am very disappointment in their service and will not be eating here in the future.

Had the best time at the Cheel thanks to the amazing chefs and our incredible server, Sean! He was very knowledgeable about the menu and so sweet and fun! The food and atmosphere were both incredible, but Sean was by far my favorite part of the experience. I will absolutely be coming back!

The food here is unique, flavorful and rich. We love the new place and as they work out the new environment I am sure it will get even better. The chicken dish heals all illnesses as do the momos

We truly had a 5 star experience at a heel for dinner on a Saturday night, so much so that I didn't take my phone out to snap any photos (sorry!). We made a reservation for 4 with ease one week prior. Kicking it off with the drinks - delicious!! A bit pricey for Thiensville but I will let them have it because they did taste great, I had a gin cocktail with turmeric in it and the flavor profile was very well-balanced. The food was between a group of 4 we shared 3 appetizers and 2 entrees and it was the perfect amount of food. For apps - the endive boats, fried MoMo and lamb bites. Wow just wow! The flavors were so satisfying, so saucy and everything cooked just right. For entrees we opted for Shan noodles w/chicken and the Nepali thali. The noodles were a table favorite which we did not expect, but they were so filling and juicy. Personally, I thought the bandal roganjosh was a little dry (wild boar) but the rest of the table had no complaints. The aesthetics are clean and classy, not my favorite/my taste but it's so nice to have a more formal & creative dining option on the Northshore. Keep it up, can't wait to go back!

Got the vegetarian Nepali Thali. All the dishes were very tasty. Service was slow and I was waiting to order a drink but it was a pretty busy night.

Girls night at the Cheel did not disappoint. The new building is beautiful, the staff are welcoming and seem to genuinely want to interact with their customers, and I could write a whole paper about how delicious the food and drink were. If you’re thinking of going to the Cheel, don’t think about it- JUST GO! My friends and I discovered a new favorite establishment. We will absolutely be back.

My wife and I don’t get a chance to go out to dinner very often, but when we do, we try to support local and hope for a great meal. Now that The Cheel is back after their tragic fire, we wanted to go show some support.I was really impressed with the decor when we walked in. Quite modern and fresh, but cozy at the same time. The hostess was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested that we enjoy ourselves. Our waitress was also very friendly and equally helpful. She took the time to explain the menu and offered some suggestions. When I first looked at the menu, I was a bit taken aback by the prices of the cocktails. I really wanted one, but refuse to pay more than $10 for a good cocktail (which many nice restaurants in Milwaukee offer, the cheapest here was $14 and went up to $30… for one cocktail), so I opted for a beer.I appreciate how The Cheel was able to keep a concise food menu but still offer a good variety. Like others have mentioned, the brussel sprouts are amazing, but the steamed veggie momo were nothing special. I ordered the variety plate which included boar and chicken. The chicken thigh, being tender and flavorful, was the highlight, but nothing that remarkable. I’m not sure why, but the boar had a really bitter taste to it. I was able to offset that by ordering the tamarind sauce. It seems like the boar would be better served pulled apart instead of cubes. The cubes may have dried the boar out a bit. I opted for the mixed dal which was very flavorful and added a lot to the dish. The root vegetable side was also pretty good, but the rice was quite bland. My wife got the lamb shank. She has ordered this at other places and loved it. She regrets not sending it back, but lamb is expensive and The Cheel is trying to find success. It was incredibly tough and she had the same problem I did with the boar with a bitter taste to it. Lamb shank usually pulls apart and she had to cut this like a steak. Very disappointing. Our meal before tip was $120. In my opinion, the meal was over-priced for the quality of food we ate. I saw the owner respond to a negative review below and found it quite unprofessional. I hope that doesn’t happen here, but felt it was important to share my experience in an honest way.

Very expensive for what you get . Rice noodles and a small amount of tofu is $25. Taste is OK but nothing special. Service was sub par. With multiple workers milling about the bar so it was trying to get to Bath Room at a Brewers game. Wife got wrong food. Was switched with someone at bar. They then brought out partially eaten dish cold from the bar person. WHF! This place sucks Rachel Bernard! They see a reviewer coming and red carpet city. $130 bucks with tip for 2 entrees 1 appetizer and 2 beers each. Bad Value. Taxpayer of WI gave them 250K to replace a landmark Queen Ann Building. It is an EIFS monstrosity.

The Cheel is back and better than ever! I was happy to see that the menu hasn't changed much since before the fire. The endive boats and lamb shank were to die for, as were the craft cocktails. Impeccable service.

So happy to be back at the cheel! Food and drinks were interesting, flavorful, and amazing. Braised wild boar, noodle dish with amazing chicken and creme brulee. So many things to go back and try.
