We've passed this place on our way up north for years. We finally took the plunge and stopped in to pick up frozen pasties on our way home from up north. Our favorite place in Rhinelander moved to the U.P. and we were missing our beloved pockets of deliciousness so we thought, "How bad can they be?". Okay, for the good part - this place is quirky and fun - a true roadside attraction. I don't want to take that away from it. The guy working was also very nice. But the bad news, these were not pasties nor were they even good savory hand pies. The dough is very sweet and dry - sweet like a cookie sweet - and very off-putting. We tried a "classic pasty" and a pork BBQ one. The filling of the "classic" was flavored with what I think was dill - still not sure though? It was weird. The BBQ filling had been ground into a paste, basically, and was unbearably sweet. We didn't even finish them. I feel bad writing this review, but I want people to understand what these pasties are like. If you're expecting something close to a traditional pasty, these aren't even in the ballpark. If you think well, they'll be like a calzone - nope. If you are accustomed to very sweet savory food, they might be your jam. Read the other reviews and decide if these are in your wheelhouse.

The owner is a great guy and produces a delicious product. So many different kinds of pasty’s to try. I will be back for these. We stop every time we on going through on 45.

What an amazing place! Jim is the kindest friendliest man I've ever met, I wish I could've met his Dad. There are many creations that are designed just to bring a smile to your face. Everything he's done is to make the world a happier place and I believe he accomplished this in spades. If you are a 'True Scotsman' I guess the pasties don't cut it. But for the rest of us they are a delicious treat that excites the palate and reminds of the great treasure that Rocks For Fun Cafe is

i would give jim 10 stars if i could, not only did he open for us over an hour after closing, but he told us wonderful stories of his father and all his rock art creations. he absolutely went above and beyond for us. all of the art had us smiling, laughing, and so happy! and the pasties are so delicious! we picked out 6 different flavors and every single one was absolutely delightful! Jim is such a wonderful person and it was such a blessing to get to see all that Rocks for Fun Cafe has! I genuinely hope to be able to come back to again!

Cool and interesting place! Pasties are amazing! Twin cheesy is my favorite!
If you want an expensive rubbery Hot Pocket, this is the place to go. These pasties are NOT pasties. Crust is horrible.

Pasties are absolutely delicious and the rock creations are amazing. Could spend hours looking at them all. Don's son runs the place now and is a nice, funny, gentleman.

Cool little place. But being a true yooper the Patty's not a true pasty. The use more of a pizza crust than a pie crust and their 21 herbs and spices in them not so good.

My friends and I stopped at Rocks for Fun cafe while on a long trip through Wisconsin from the Ottawa national forest. We had empty stomachs and pasty’s were on our mind. Good thing we stumbled upon the Rocks for Fun Cafe!!!!!!!!Along with an amazing display of fun, wacky, clever rock art you are met with the largest variety of pasty’s I’ve seen. Creative flavors, friendly faces and silly rocks are the passions behind R4F cafe. We will be back!
