Besse's On Clear Lake

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner again tonight. There are few restaurants we return to during our stay Up North because there are so many great places here, but Besse’s is one of them. Our server was friendly, professional and knew the menu well. She welcomed us back, recognizing us from our previous visit 2 weeks ago. Two of us started with the sauerkraut, potato and ham soup which we ordered out of curiosity and really enjoyed. The other person in our party had the salad which was fresh, crisp and he liked the homemade vinaigrette. The pork chop was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked, the Parmesan Crusted Cod was amazing and I had the Chicken Piccata again which was very nicely prepared. Last time we were here my daughter had the ribeye and said it was on her Top 3 list! She works at a high end steak house in Texas so she knows a great steak. During the day, the view from the bar is great and I imagine the patio seating is wonderful in nice weather. We are a group of foodies and have all been in the business. Don’t miss out on a great meal - give Besse’s a try!

Server and staff were fantastic, the menu was unappealing, the menu is overpriced as the food was subpar at best. Just disappointed to say the least.

We had a wonderful time at your restaurant!! The bartender was attentive, and my friend loved his new martini, I think called the orange kitty. Our server, Kiana was friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed our entres. I had a filet and my husband a ribeye, both were delicious! My friend loved her chicken picata, and my son loved the duck! Our other friend tried the special, Cajun Shrimp, and he loved it!! They have a beautiful view of the lake! Don't miss this Northwoods super club, it is a gem!!

We used Besse’s on Clear Lake to cater the memorial we had for our son. We cannot say enough good things about our experience with them. We live in Alaska and had to work with them long distance to set it up so it was ready for when we arrived in Wisconsin. The compassion they showed for our situation was amazing. The service they provided to deliver and set up the food was perfect. We also highly recommend the food quality. Everything was excellent and very generous portions. We had over 100 people and were asked multiple times where the food came from. If anyone is in need of catering services you cannot go wrong with Besse’s. I know if we are ever in need of catering again they will be who we choose. They made a very tough situation for us so much easier and we will always appreciate and remember that.

Just wanted to send a big THANK YOU to Besse’s on Clear Lake and their amazing staff … Collin, Dan, Kathy and Gabby! I celebrated my 7️⃣0️⃣th birthday with friends on Saturday night, while vacationing in Tomahawk. The food and service was incredible! 😊

We did not stay the night, but we enjoy dinner here often! Appetizers, drinks, specials, & regular menu items have all been delightful! Service is fast & very welcoming with a smile! Be sure to tip your kind & attentive server well ❤️

We had dinner this past Saturday, three of us, and it was amazing!! None of us were disappointed. We all had the prime rib and it was perfect! Staff is friendly & very professional.

My husband and I stopped by last night. We had the scallops and the duck. Both were very good and a real treat. We finished off the evening with the Messy Bessie, we totally enjoyed. The staff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our evening. We will be back!

Ate there last nite. We had a party of 6 and we were pleased with the service. Very friendly waitress and staff was attentive to clearing away dirty dishes. Good wine and drinks. We were all happy with our food. We ordered Cod, rack of ribs, mini tacos, poormans lobster. All of it was delicious!

Showed up a half hour after listed opening time to find the entire property empty and frankly very unnervingly quiet. Tried calling but got a busy signal after getting through to a voice mail system earlier (to be fair I didn't leave a message when the automated instructions started playing) so we went up to knock on the door only to find everything lights off and empty through the window. It wasn't until driving out that we noticed a for sale sign under the restaurant sign so please be aware.

Very tasty food and drinks at reasonable prices. Service was great, with a very attentive wait staff. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice, more low key supper club atmosphere in the Tomahawk area.
