Not Mad Dan's anymore. Fish was delicious. They said they make homemade fresh to order onion rings. Will try that next time.

Mad Dan’s is closed indefinitely. They announced this last fall, claiming that covid had made it impossible to adequately staff the restsurant. Local are hoping that this wonderful place can reopen this summer.

I really, really, really, really, really miss you Mad Dan's, and hope folks get back to work, and the restaurant reopens. Bill Shrop, Helena, MT.

SO, all this silliness about Covid aside, these difficult times call for a bit more than a little leeway and some perspective and courtesy (which is NEVER out of style). Cancellers can go back to Illinois. I have been coming to Mad Dan's since the 1970's with my family and I have great memories of the old location and fond ones of the newer location as well. I have had terrific meals here served by folks that have waited on three generations of my family, I am grateful and appreciative of that. I am hoping that this 2021 closure is brief and provides some respit from the caustic reviews and rude people, You all know who You are. No, I don't work here but I do now live in the area and I like the folks around here, and the folks that run and work this restaurant. I would like to see them return and crush it just as they have been doing for more than 30 years with happy, friendly faces.

$30 for this.. potato was so tiny. Was not a true baking potato at all. No other veggie. No crackers even with my soup. When I asked I was just told no and she walked away. Total for both my hubby and I was $66. For not much of nothing. Used to love coming here. But never again.

Awesome fish fry. Potato pancakes as quite yummy. "This was pre Covid"Now since then the food quality and food prep is not the same. Unfortunately the fish fry dinners we received last night were undercooked both chicken and the fish! They have changed there batter and now it just doesn't taste the same. Not to mention the hairs that was found in one of our meals. Place was packed when I went it to pick up our order that we waited a hour to pick up. I get the wait time not the under cooked food. The potato pancakes you had originally were way better by far than what you have now.

I was there with a friend on a Friday night. It was busy. Nice servers but wasn't thrilled with the food.

Unfortunately, Mad Dan's is closed for good. The covid economy, stimulus packages paying people to not work, crippled the business beyond recovery. Mad Dan's will be greatly missed.
