We had fantastic meals and drinks both nites we went. The meals are imaginative, coherent, locally-sourced, just brilluant. The "sharing plates" are substantial and lovely. Wonderful vibe--not precious, but comfy.

What a find. Not what I expected driving through WI. This is a special place.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I always try and visit whenever I am in town. Bring friends so you can try more dishes. :D

Nothing but good things to say. Food quality was very good (and unique) as was the service and atmosphere. My only suggestion would be to have more of the staples that I prefer. Specifically, the Shishito Peppers and the Marinated Chicken Wings with a tangy sauce.

We made this part of our travel plans and so excited to eat here. The service was good and the presentation of the meals were excellent. Unfortunately the food was bland and tasteless. I ordered the wild rice arancini with cherries, carmelized onion, squash miso pure and salad. None of those flavors were present. Even a little salt would have been nice. I feel bad because I really wanted to love at least 1 dish we had.

We made Viroqua and Driftless Cafe our destination from home in Sturgeon Bay to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We’ve enjoyed watching Luke Zahm on Wisconsin Foodie and really looked forward to experiencing his restaurant for ourselves. We were sadly disappointed. We ordered 2 apps - the chicken wings, which were really tough like they’d been prepared much earlier and were microwaved prior to serving (hard to get the meat off the bones,) the blistered shishito peppers, which were very tasty, and we each ordered the fish sandwich. My husband got potato chips as his side and I upgraded to truffle fries. The sandwiches tasted good but were very messy, the chips tasted like they were out of a bag and the truffle fries were good. Other than the wings, nothing was bad but nothing was a great as we’d anticipated. Our server was delightful and prompt. So I rate it a 3/5 stars. For the price, it just was average food. In comparison to where we ate today, Driftless Glen in Baraboo, Driftless Cafe pales. Our food at Driftless Glen was beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. Maybe Luke needs to pay his kitchen staff a visit.

Service was slow and food was way overpriced and not very tasty. Atmosphere was very nice, but we will not be returning.

Visited on a very busy Friday evening so the venue was a bit noisy and crowded and service a bit slow - but so very much well worth it. Gorgeous salads that seemed freshly harvested that same afternoon. Two of our party enjoyed the best beef tenderloin ever. Another enjoyed a trout entree which was reportedly delicious. A fantastic berry cobbler fresh of the oven and topped with ice cream completed our dining experience- also delicious. A wonderful dining experience celebrating my brother’s birthday. Very highly recommend!

Came across this restaurant during an overnight stay in Viroqua. It has an inventive menu with variety. We had
Corn Nachos & Chicken Pizza. Both were fantastic!! Highly recommend.

Server Lauren was awesome. Three of us ordered the short ribs and were all disappointed. We all agreed they were dry. The Korean BBQ was Very spicy. We were told it was glazed over the ribs. Instead it drenched the entire bowl, saturating all of the fresh vegetables. The only thing it did not totally cover was the mound of rice. There was no where to excape the heat. I didn't come close to finishing my dinnerI only ate the 4 riblets, the 5th being all fat. Lauren took my plate as if not to ask how I truly enjoyed my meal. A bit disappointing. I should have went with the tenderloin.

We had amazing food, we came up to Viroqua from Milwaukee for the weekend. The slight disappointment we had was in our service unfortunately. We were encouraged to share small plates. We ordered four for 2 people. They all came out at the same time and we were mostly left alone (we would have ordered more drinks, but decided to just move onto a dessert instead), we were never asked after our drinks were empty. Overall, the food was amazing, we felt pressured to eat fast while it was warm and left our cheese board for last. We just would have ordered completely differently if we had known they would come out all at once. I have never been to a restaurant that encouraged small plate sharing/ordering that didn't pace them. In fact, we probably would have just shared an appetizer and ordered full entrees instead.

A great stop when passing through or wandering Viroqua , we had a pulled pork and a huuuuge portion of fish! Seriously , my husband couldn’t even finish it all and the fries. Service was very good, to the point of I’d make it halfway through my water and it’d be getting refilled already.
The ambiance is very cozy and comfortable as well I love all the wood tones and acoustical ceiling accents.

Some of the freshest food my wife and I have had. Would recommend the lamb burger and the flourless chocolate cake. Everyone on the staff was very friendly as well!
