Had reservations and arrived to have to wait by the door or outside in the 30 degree weather. (Back room/bar had a private party). Poor ventilation in the cafe as our eyes burned from the kitchen grill smoke and left with our clothes smelling the same.

Small town cafe with a big city taste! My wife had the Mac n cheese for her entree. Absolutely fabulous. Served in a cast iron skillet which added to presentation…but the taste…delicious. I had the burger. I was a little hesitant to order the burger as I’ve been disappointed by burgers so many times. But before I get to the burger let’s start with the fries. Cooked to perfection! Crispy, warm, and full of delicious French Fry flavor. Now the burger…you know how some places dress up a burger all over only to forget about the burger itself? Well that’s not what is happening here…the bun was great, the house sauce was great, the greens were crisp, the cheese was amazing, but the burger was so full of flavor and it was the star of the dish! That was a 5 star burger!! 🍔 Best I’ve had in Wisconsin since moving here 2 years ago. Job well done Driftless Cafe…well worth the hour drive here. Keep the flavors coming….till next time!!

Very unfortunate. Poor slow service. Meals came at different times leaving some with food sitting in front of them while others were waiting. Server shrugged it off. Prices REALLY HIGH! We thought it was a cafe but it had sort of overly 'artsy' food on the menu. No normal food and not vegetarian friendly.

The BEST restaurant by far in Viroqua and within 100 miles. Ruthie and her celebrity chef husband Luke have created a warm comfy space and an amazing culinary experience. Service and food are top notch, I can’t wait to return, the beef tenderloin was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had:)

This place is unique and spectacular. You won't come across anything like it in the area. HIGHLY recommend. The brisket sliders and beef tenderloin were amazing.

Run, don’t walk, to dine here and plan on comming back again. The farm to table meals are and wonderful gift to experience! We drove 3hrs (shorewood wi) to the cafe for lunch and my only disappointment was that we couldn’t stay for dinner due to the drive home. Can’t wait for the next road trip!

Belinda and I enjoyed a culinary delight last evening. First up we were lucky enough to be there on a night for beef marrow service. Very rich. Belinda ordered the scallops, I enjoyed the chicken which was seasoned wonderfully. Finished up the night with melt in your mouth flourless chocolate cake. I applaud the chef's!

I have been coming here for years now and it seems like this place gets better and better. The food here is amazing, true farm to table and the pizzas ? are out of this world, The Fig and Pig ? my favorite. The staff are very personable and knowledgeable. What a gem ?

This is the main vegan option I've seen online, but I couldn't tell if the dinner menu had anything I could eat. I called, and they said there's always a vegetarian option, and the chef will [always, it sounded like] be able to make that or something else vegan. I was skeptical, but I ended up with a stuffed eggplant that was SO GOOD. It also came with a good-sized salad (with the maple balsamic vinagrette--didn't seem like the others were vegan, but it would have been one of my top choices, anyway). Additionally, they had a list of mocktails, NA beers, and a NA champagne on their drink list, which I appreciated. The mock Paloma was great!

We stopped for lunch while driving through on a road trip and we all had the burger and seasoned fries. It was possibly the best burger I have ever eaten and the fries were incredible. We all finished every bite on plates and didn't have room for dessert, but the cake offered sounded amazing, so we ordered two slices to take home. That night we had the cake and that alone is worth the drive to this cafe.
We are already planning a day trip of hiking so we can eat at the Driftless Cafe again before summers over.
