Wonderstate Coffee - Viroqua Cafe

Love a good coffee shop. On the drive back home from Minneapolis to Milwaukee, we were told we needed to stop in and check this place out. From the outside it looks like a small shop, but it feels bigger once you step inside. The big front windows let in plenty of natural light. There are café tables outside, and inside there are different-sized tables for small groups. The seating is mostly simple wood benches, which are not very comfortable if you plan on sitting for a long time.

We were a little disappointed that the kitchen was already closed at 2:00 p.m. The barista apologized, but not much could be done. We ended up getting a London Fog Tea Latte and a couple of cookies. (We did find a Mexican restaurant down the street for lunch, so it all worked out.) The London Fog was very good, with a little lavender, a little vanilla, and extra foam. The peanut butter cookie was just okay, but the cardamom ginger cookie was amazing, similar in taste to a molasses cookie.

Would definitely like to come back sometime to try the food, enjoy a couple more hot beverages, and sit outside on the patio, rather than on the inside wood box seats.

27 minutes to get a hot chocolate on a Farmer’s Market Saturday…be aware of time suck.

Simple breakfast options. I got a cookie Great coffee . Indoor seating with big windows. The music seemed pretty loud but maybe that’s ok with more people in the dining area. I found it a bit unnerving to hear every noise from the kitchen followed by lots of screaming from the staff. I think it was a little different a couple years ago when I was there

Wonderstate roasts great coffee. Their service is friendly, and the location is right on main drag. Grab an outdoor table an watch the traffic roll past, or sit inside their light and bright cafe.

I was shocked to see a coffee shop this nice in such a small town. We were passing through to visit family in Minnesota.
Very pleasantly surprised not only with the location but everything. The cappuccino was flawless. Perfectly done.

Great coffee, danishes and the bagel and lox was wonderful! The inside can get super loud which makes it tough to hear when your order is up but the food makes it worthwhile

Chill vibe and excellent staff. I'm always pleased whenever I go. And they usually have a GF pastry/dessert option too! Had a peach blossom latte today--so delicious!

Great coffee choices, yummy food and quick turn around on the food even though they had a line out the door. Staff was friendly and polite under Memorial Day rush stress.

The chai latte was not that good. The scones and the savory Danish were delicious. Lemon bar I did not like and I Love lemon, it was quite bitter tasting. I had to throw it away.

You can tell the coffee here is made with a lot of care. The fresh roast comes across in how smooth the coffee tastes. Amazing! Highly recommend to anyone craving a balanced sip!

Planned our overnight motorcycle trip just so we could stop here for breakfast. Was not disappointed!

I had an apple cinnamon muffin and a latte -- delicious! My only regret is that I live five hours away.
