Tichigan Lakes Hilltop Pub and Eatery

Was there on a Friday at 4:30 for fish fry. Not one single car in parking lot, went in only the bartender. Had a couple of drinks, ordered food, sat in dining room . waited for someone to come over, no one came.Saw our food on the counter, cook rang bell twice,still no one came, went and got our food before it got cold, half way done bartender came said he didn't hear the bell. Food was good, Service was terrible. No one else was in the place but he forgot we were there??? Not acceptable.

I had the pan seared perch. By far the worst fish I have ever eaten. Pan seared should have had a sear on it, by definition. My fish was limp, like it was boiled or sautéed, not seared. I tried but couldn’t eat it, tasteless and limp.

"Honey, ask the neighbors if they know of any fine eateries near us for a group supper!". This is what transpired just one measly week ago, and boy was I glad that we were recommended the Hilltop Restaurant and Pub. As you wind through the driveway, you take in the serene landscape that surrounds the hill. Entering the establishment is at first a typical experience. That's until you're greeted with the grinning faces of the friendly wait staff. Boy dandy, are they nice. We got an appetizer and a few brews before our main course, the fish! It was rather fishy (get it?) on how incredible it tasted, as if it was freshly caught from Lake Tichigan that morning. We ended up going for the food and staying for the company and atmosphere. After a couple rounds of darts, and maybe a couple rounds (too many) of beers, we decided to call it a night. Feining for the next time that the dinner bell rings from atop the hill.
