Mullen's Dairy Bar - Watertown

I went here all the time when I was a kid and slowly stopped going as much when the current owners took over. This was a while back at this point, but I remember ordering what I had always ordered throughout my life. It tasted like someone spilled chemicals in my malt. I had my friend taste it and they immediately spit it out. I ended up throwing it away. The food was also.. really bad. BUT fast forward I had a few okay experiences there. Then recently I took my friend and told them how “iconic” this place is for Watertown. It was kinda embarrassing because the kids who were working did not know what they were doing whatsoever. The malts turned out so bad.. I just threw mine away. Despite this negative review, I will put things past me. I try to be open minded about these things but cmon. I haven’t had a good malt from there in like ten years. Please teach your awkward employees how to do customer service. It shouldn’t be so painful to order a malt and have it made properly. Maybe I just have bad luck.. but when it comes to going out for ice cream. Mullens is last on the list … unfortunately. If they could be consistent with how their stuff is made then maybe I would’ve had a good experience that I see others have had. But I can’t keep wasting my money there hoping “this time will be better”.

And wow I just read other negative reviews and I’m IN SHOCK at their rude response to another customer who posted a review. This business literally went to the CUSTOMERS Google profile to see the customers other reviews. That is another level of petty. I feel my review is constructive feedback and if you guys respond rudely then maybe you need to take classes on how to treat customers. I’m not allowed to talk to people like that at MY job. Grow up. Now I’m really not ever going to come back. Show your customers some respect and have some self reflection. Maybe take the criticism and do better! Have a day.

Food was yummy as always- burgers and fries! Wanted to share that Winter was an excellent server! Her service was quick and excellent- but the way she spoke to the kids she was serving was excellent! She kindly explained what ice cream cone options were and details about the food to help some children make a good choice! Thanks Winter and Mullens for another great experience!

Fantastic food and ice cream

I usally don’t have issues with mullens food ever. However I paid 36$ dollars for maybe one of the worst chili cheese fries iv ever even seen. The chilli looks and taste dry. I barely see any cheese at all. To make it worse the chilli cheese dog order was just wrong. Iv never had this issue before.

I love this place. Great classic burgers, hot dogs, & cheese curds. Service is welcoming & friendly. I hope they always continue the classic diner look & feel. Going here just makes me happy!

Great food and wonderful service! From the sliced hot dog for our 3yo to the banana split with no marshmallow and three spoons, we loved Mullins! (The tomato basil soup, burger, and onion rings were fantastic too!)

Very disappointed that the ice cream is not the same even though it's supposed to be healthier. They changed things around and just doesn't feel like it did when I went here as a kid with my mom, grandma and siblings.
