Buck & Honey's - Waunakee

Loved our dinner! Service was great, atmosphere was inviting and chic. The food was amazing! You can really tell a lot of care went into each dish! I had the salmon with broccolini and it was delicious, cooked perfectly. And creme brulee for dessert. Lovely place!

We are regular diners at the Waunakee Buck & Honey's and have often commented on the loud noise level inside of the restaurant on many occasions. However, last Friday we had made a reservation, arrived and were promptly seated in the main dining area. After only a couple of minutes, my wife looked at me and said "I can't hear myself think in this place tonight". She was absolutely right. The "din" was at least a couple of times worse than we'd ever experienced in the past. After a short discussion (mostly shouting at each other to be heard) we got up and left and went to Culvers. We missed the food which is usually good and the great experience with the servers who are very good but could no longer put up with the volume of noise. They REALLY NEED to do something about sound deadening in that building. So, if you're over the age of 25 and want to be able to have a reasonable conversation with your spouse or friends, I'd look for another restaurant option.

Always delicious - always good service. I enjoy the variety of choices. I highly recommend the traditional Old Fashioned with Bourbon!!

The stuffed chicken was excellent.I paired it with their wild rice, broccoli and a Chardonnay for a great meal. Always enjoy eating there.

Great staff and the food was excellent! Beautiful location that is set right outside of Waunakee! If you're looking for a restaurant that offers a variety of options for food and drinks this place is a must! Will be back again soon!

Buck & Honey's Waunakee is one of only 2 non-bar/brewery eateries in Waunakee. The menu while not very large provides a fair selection of steaks, seafood, and other options. The quality of the food seems to vary by the visit but in general has been good with the possible exception of undercooking the vegetables. Their wine selection seems to be a mystery to the management. Sometimes in stock, often not, so making choices from the wine list may end in disappointment. The weakest part of the experience is the NOISE! It can be deafening, particularly when they are very busy making conversation with your dining party extremely difficult if not impossible.

Raquel made me an amazing cocktail and Grace was wonderful at the bar too!

We may have visited on a bad night, but the wait between our appetizer and final meal had to be pushing 45 minutes. It was a busy night, and it wasn't really that it took a long time, but that no one on the staff seemed to care enough to give us a heads up or even refill our drinks without being flagged down. We could have just had a perfect storm of a busy night with short staffing etc, but even the food wasn't anything to right home about. I don't leave many negative reviews, but I do think there are better options out there in this price point.

We arrived on time for a 7 pm reservation. The hostess barely greeted us and left before we sat down. No comment about enjoy your meal or a server will be with you shortly. We sat there for several minutes while staff cleared 3 tables near us. No one came to our table to bring water or let us know they’d be with us shortly. We had time to review menus, pick what we’d like and close the menus. And yet no one came. We left. Staying and paying your high prices would have only added insult to injury.
