El Charro Mexican Grill Waunakee

It was our first time visiting and the food was absolutely amazing! I had a burrito and my friend had the birria - both were delicious.

The chips and salsa are phenomenal and the Pina coladas were great. We were seated right away. And when we left, the place was packed. The only downside was the service. Our server marisol.. I believe that was her name wasn't very friendly and had a very dry personality. However, the food was so good and we definitely will be back!

I frequent many Mexican restaurants and this one is my favorite. The cooks are amazing, always on point. The staff is always super friendly and efficient and the drinks are amazing, too!

This was our second time stopping here; and we were much more impressed this time. Everything down to the chips and salsa were wonderful, our server was great, and the food was perfect for a cold night out and about. Definitely recommend stopping in here!

Extremely disappointed after ordering takeout. Placed the order at 3:49 pm and never received confirmation. Called at 4:05 pm to confirm they received the order in which they confirmed they did and said it was almost ready. Upon showing up at 4:19 pm I was told it would be 10 more minutes. Upon checking in again at 4:39 pm I was told they are working on it. The order didn’t come out until 4:47 pm almost 60 minutes after it was previously ordered. There were 3 other cars in the parking lot when I arrived to pick up the order so you can’t tell me it was due to it being busy. If it’s gonna take 60 minutes for take out please tell the customer that instead of making them sit in the lobby for a half hour. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Great place to chill provided you get someone who understands English well enough to understand your order or issue provided you have one. Better options out there but its close

The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. The staff is very friendly but absent often from checking in on you.
We ordered a cheese only chili relleno, and received a flour tortilla with cheese and lettuce. We sent it back and received a chili relleno but covered in massive amounts of cheese! It was not edible. They were very kind to take it off our bill. We have gone here before and had better experiences but overall I still rate the food 3 stars since Mexican and Tex-Mex are the foods I know best!
