I can’t say enough positive comments about this venue, the staff, and in particular, Sal the chef. We rented the restaurant on a Sat night to host a family special event, with 20 in attendance. The food and wine were outstanding!! Sal’s food blew away our guests, all of whom were very familiar with fine dining in much bigger cities. Thank you Green Fountain Inn for making a perfect evening and memory for our family!

This place is fantastic! Fresh ingredients and thoughtful flavor combinations, put it in a class of its own in Waupaca. Plus they are making a solid effort to keep their patrons safe. They even do wine dinners on special occasions. Get lunch or make a dinner reservation, you won't be disappointed.

My new favorite place in Waupaca!! We happened to just be driving by when we noticed the cafe sign and decided to stop and check it out. What a gem! The place is immaculate with a large hot tea selection and a small menu of fresh homemade items. The bread is homemade and delicious. Can’t wait to go back!

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to eat one of Sal's amazing meal's on Saturday. I called to find out if they were social distancing and they answer was " Of course." So we had a whole room in this delightful inn to our selves. This is a small place so the menu had only 3 choices but you can't make a mistake. It is based upon what is currently fresh. Also everything comes with a salad and bread. The salad that night had southern peaches, crisp lettuce and cucumbers just lightly dressed. My husband had filet mignon with a mustard sauce and I chose gnocchi with a variety of vegetables and fresh chanterelles! We concluded our dinner with chocolate creme brulee topped with thimble berries. The chef had picked the chanterelles and berries earlier that day! Everything was just delightful! I felt bad that I could not finish my wonderful meal when I learned that he saw some of my gnocchi came back so he changed the recipe for the next customer. It was all wonderful but I am not a big person. We will make this trip for this restaurant alone!

Not good soup was like pudding consistency.

I hadn't even made it to the door before a woman came out to me and the three children I had; I explained I was looking for coffee to go. She told me they did not have coffee. If that is true-they do not serve coffee at 10:30 a.m. I will delete my review. But her tone was quite a disappointment and thus my husband and I have never dined here for a meal.

The Secret Garden Cafe has a different chef and a different name in the evening. Then it’s called the Green Fountain Cafe and Bakery. Both are within a wonderful B&B called the Green Fountain Inn — which you can check out in the Hotels section of Trip Advisor. I want you to know this because we just finished a fabulous meal prepared by Salvatore and served by Eleanor. I’m pretty sure your evening experience would be as good as ours. We met Sal around noon when we checked into the Green Fountain. He’d been out in the woods gathering a variety of good-looking mushrooms. Those appeared with our tenderloin tonight, as did a huge complementary salad that was equally fresh. Two baskets of bread were free, too, served with a small bowl of thoughtfully-softened butter. The tenderloin entree was $31, a fair price because it was a superb and generous cut of beef, and because of the freebies. The steak was prepared perfectly and enhanced by a wine that Eleanor suggested. The other entree we tried was all veggie: grilled Summer squash with crispy fried polenta and creamed corn. Delicious! Only $18. We didn’t order appetizers nor desserts but they sounded imaginative and tasty. Next time. There definitely will be a next time! PS: All four of us we so pleased that we composed a Thank You song and performed it to Sal and Eleanor in the kitchen. Never done that before!

What a wonderful gem! Set in a B&B, this cafe has fantastic, fresh food. Everything is from scratch, including the breads. We had the chicken salad sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. Both were delightful! And the petit fours for dessert were just divine. I'm not sure we'll find our way back to Waupaca, but if we do, we'll be spotting here again for brunch!

The chicken salad sandwich is actually addicting!

We usually order the crab cakes, but they have a new chef so it is temporarily not available. The sandwiches are very good and have healthy sides
