Me and my Husband went there tonight for a change and we were so happy we did it was great food and amazing staff.. our table was wobbly immediately a sweet young man fixed it and had such contagious joy he spread to every person he encountered tonight. We both worked a long day and I myself looked like a homeless woman from working outside today all day.. I felt just as special as the fanciest woman in there .. highly recommend the food is so good and the people are so very kind .. thank you for an amazing meal

Food is always hot and plentiful portions. One of the few places I take home any leftovers from. My neighbors (when I was 5) owned this place and he would make us bunny-shaped pancakes.Wheelchair accessibility: Not easily accessible but there are many places in town that are. The back door may be accessible, but this is a 200 year old building that sits right on the property line with city sidewalk on all sides.

We were seated right away but waited 45 minutes for our food. The bummer was watching new people come in and seated and got food right away. We finally got our food and I was very unhappy with the steak that came with eggs. Very tough to eat. My husband's meal was very salty. They did apologize, but I think they only had one cook for all the people there.

My adult sons and I were in town for a football weekend and decided to eat breakfast here. Good friends of my parents owned the restaurant from the 50's to 80's (Ambrose and Esther Braun) so we decided to eat here primarily for nostalgic reasons. What a pleasant surprise. Mateo's food was excellent, with hefty portions, and good value. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had the feta and spinach omelet, a nice scramble, and the waffle with all the fixings. The hash browns were good and crispy outside. Thanks Mateo's for a nice experience.

Was a stopping point on our trip back home. Walked in the place was busy after getting our food we understood why. Plenty of food as well as delicious. The waiter was amazingly quick and kept up with the incoming traffic. Would definitely make a stop here again on our way back to Door County.
