Dinner was amazing. Started with yummy bread w/olive oil & garlic, calamari as an appetizer, we split a salad which consisted of grilled veggies with a balsamic glaze on them. Very tasty. He had his lamb shank which was very tasty and I had one of their specials which was penne pasta with a light creamy tomato sauce and shrimp, scallops and chicken. Very good. We shared a cream brûlée and 2 cappuccinos. Everything was excellent. Of course we spent more than our gift card but it was so worth it. Weekly they have $33 deals and quite a bit to pick from. Always very fresh and yummy.

This place is always good. The mista salad is a favorite. I just wish the menu would get updated or changed from time to time.

We have been coming to IL Mito for years and have always enjoyed ourselves! But our last two visits have been phenomenal! We came here to celebrate my Mom winning an award and our waiter made the night that much more enjoyable! As usual, the food was absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend the ribeye with the pesto pasta on the side (we substituted the pesto with garlic oil & wine sauce). For salads we ordered the mixta salad but with the Ceasar dressing. Lastly, the bread that comes out complimentary with the garlic paste is great. Keep ordering it!

Amazing Italian restaurant! Great service, excellent Italian food. Olive oil with roasted garlic brought to the table with warm bread. Ordered Bruschetta, Carpaccio for appetizers, words can not explain how good it was. Ordered the bolognese and lasagna for the main course, mouth watering you will not be disappointed! A must get is the pear puff pastry served with homemade whipped cream with a half of a fresh strawberry. You’ll want to be nice and share this but trust me you’ll be fighting for the last bite, order one for yourself instead.

Great food and service. I recommend the reb wine beef braised short ribs. It was so good. Also tried the carbonara and the pasta was perfect and fresh. A little heavy on the bacon but was still great. Calamari was also very good with a light panko breading. Would recommend and will be back.

Catered our wedding and the food was delicious! Many friends and family came up complimenting the food! The appetizers were perfect; was great having server's walking around with them. The best was the beef short ribs; just melted when you ate it! Everything again was delicious! Chef Michael Feker made us feel like family! He goes above and beyond what's expected making everything feel perfect! My new wife and I will being making IL MITO Trattoria a usual night out for dinner! 100% recommend the catering service you won't be disappointed!

Even though we were unable to go out, my husband and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner at home. The food was fantastic. The calamari was fresh. Just like being at the restaurant. Nice job! Totally exceeded our expectations. Love this restaurant and chef.

One of our favorite Italian restaurants. Il Mito is a Milwaukee Metro gem. The food is always and consistently delicious and the prices are reasonable. The wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. This is an easy 'go to' whenever we don't want to cook or want to go out with family and friends.

A girlfriend and I ate here for a recent night out! The service was attentive and I enjoyed my glass of wine. I also liked the atmosphere, which is a bit retro 1990s Italian vibes - pretty cozy! Unfortunately disappointed with my food and overall felt you could probably get a similar meal at somewhere like Olive Garden. We shared a Caesar salad - it tasted OK but was not super appealing and the lettuce did not look fresh. I ordered the Fettuccine alle Carbonara and I asked them to modify it since I'm allergic to legumes and can't eat peas. I'm not sure if they just decided to substitute the dish with an Alfredo sauce with chicken or what but it was not a traditional carbonara, it was a heavy cream sauce. My friend really enjoyed her chicken parm, but I truly think it was of similar quality to any other fast food Italian.

Very unfortunate dining experience at il mito last night. From the get-go, we waited at least ten minutes to first meet our waitress and order drinks after being seated by the hostess (it was not a busy night). After ordering a drink and an appetizer and waiting an extensive amount of time to order our entree, the restaurant lost power due to a car accident nearby. The chef came out to one specific table of what appeared to be regulars, but made no comments to the general crowd. The hostess came around to tell the customers about the accident within a few minutes of losing power. The chef then came back out and said to a nearby table, “you got your food so now you have to pay!” - really a distasteful attempt at a joke to a family who had spent hundreds of dollars to eat in the dark. At this point it had been about 20 minutes since we last saw our waitress while we finished our appetizer in the dark. She finally came to our table, briefly apologized, told us that will be all for the night, and immediately asked for my credit card so she could take a picture of it (??) to charge me later as their machines were not working. No efforts to tell us how much the bill would be, to give us any sort of receipt, or a number to call if we had any concerns. We flagged down the hostess to express our concerns and she had us write our name and number down and gave us their business card. (The hostess called me today to make sure I didn’t have any further concerns which is our one win - thanks Jennifer!). We obviously understand that the power loss is completely out of il mito’s control, but it was very poorly handled by the owner. I’m honestly a bit shocked that we were charged full price and not offered any service recovery (free drink? gift card? something to encourage us to return?) with this experience. To add to all of this, we woke up in the middle of the night with food poisoning . The only reason I gave two stars is because we have had a positive experience here, but it’s unlikely that we will return again.Takeaway: generally an unfortunate experience, but could have been handled much better by the staff. The owner seems to refuse to take any accountability for the circumstances which is evident in his defensiveness that night, ie his concerns about making sure he gets paid rather than apologizing and ensuring his customers felt taken care of and appreciated.

Food was pretty good, had the risotto, pomodoro, and carne pizza. Ambiance was nice sitting outside although there were a ton of gnats. Our server didn’t get to us right away, but she was great once she got to us.
