This place is amazing but for 2 people you are spending between $40 to $50. It's worth it though because the food is absolutely outstanding no matter what you have. Some of the heavier foods will put you to sleep.

This is truly a neighborhood diner that is a local favorite spot. We went on a Saturday mid-morning for brunch, and trust me . . . We were not alone. That joint was packed. We had about a 25 minute wait which was cool. Once we got seated, we were greeted by our waitress. The wait staff is not like an ordinary staff. They are a group of people that look like they just put on whatever is clean and come to work. You really don’t know who works there as the restaurant staff look like the average customer. . , it’s kinda weird, but it works. Our waitress was awesome! We had the Buffalo chicken BLT wrap with hand cut fries and creamy coleslaw and the spicy chicken quesadilla with tortilla chips w/salsa and sour cream. The food was soooo flavorful and seasoned to perfection. It’s a very busy dish place where everyone minds their own business. Loved it!!! I will be back. This restaurant should be featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Ordered pulled pork. Meat was mush. Seemed very old to have broken down so much.
Solid modern diner style joint whipping up classic diner fare that includes lunch and fish fry options. It's a large menu with all the typical brunch options available - pancakes, waffles, skillets, French toast, etc. You can also get a wide range of lunch options, including cheese, curds, quesadillas, chicken sandwiches, burgers, salads and wraps. I hear the burgers are good but we always get the Buffalo chicken wrap - it's big and delicious. On this visit we also ordered pancakes (wonderful) as well as the Meat Lovers breakfast skillet (solid but not amazing). All in all a decent go to spot when you're not sure what to eat but want some good if not spectacular food. It's a popular spot on the weekends so be prepared to wait 30-60 mins for a table or booth. They do have limited bar seating too.

This is very hard for me to do, but it needs to be addressed. I have recently given North Ave Grill 5 stars, and it is one of our go-to places for any meal. With that being said, before we had our 5 month old we would go in person, sometimes waiting 45 minutes to an hour for a table. With our baby now, we get take out when we are wanting to go out, just because we dont want to wait for a table. In the last 5 months, we have probably gotten take out from North Ave 3-4 times, but we have tried to get it probably upwards of 20+ times and get the message "we are not taking any more take out orders". A couple times I have went there just to see if it is busy, and there are just a few people in there even tho we are getting that message when we try to order. I love that they are busy, but the convenience of it being down the road from us was something we used to enjoy. I'm not sure if they need more staff, but constantly getting that message is extremely frustrating.

The North Ave Grill is one of Milwaukee's best breakfast restaurants. The food was so good I went two days in a row. Both times, I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs. The hash was perfect!! The beef was tender, and the potatoes were fried excellently. Pictured is the corned beef hash with strawberries and cream, cinnamon crunch French toast. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! If you live in Milwaukee or have out of town guests coming in, make this your first breakfast spot. Come hungry!!
