It feels like a Parisian bakery, without the attitude. Beautifully decorated, clean with a few tables. Nice small park to west of building. Great quality, delicious. I particularly recommend the almond croissant, which often sells out quickly and is not made daily. I highly recommend reserving your order fur almond croissant using the online system.

I visited this bakery's tent at the South Shore Farmers Market the weekend of August 23. I just wanted to get a smaller loaf and the sweetest young man helped me pick out a cheese babka. The bread was delicious, but I really just wanted to leave a comment about how friendly and nice the people running the stand were!

This came highly recommended by my friend who lives in the area. So I placed a mobile order and walked to the cafe only to find out I had a 50 minute wait! FOR A SANDWICH. Sorry that seems a little ridiculous to me. Especially when people who walked in were walking out with their food who clearly ordered after me. I should have just cancelled the order when I saw the wait.

I waited 30 minutes and then checked in with someone at the register and they pushed my order through a little faster. Still waited the full 50 minutes however.

The staff were a kind and the place was clean. The music is really loud and the staff is quiet so make sure you listen closely for your order.

I come in every once in a while to buy some pastries/croissants for my coworkers and the staff has always been amazing and very friendly, my daughter loves the macaroons. Definitely recommend this place.

Best bakery around. Been coming here since it opened and it has never disappointed me.
The employees working the counter are always knowledgeable and pleasant. The
bread is phenomenal. I love that I can get half loaves.
I only wish we could turn back the clock when it was open later in the day.

Rocket Baby Bakery is one of those rare places that makes you feel genuinely happy the moment you walk in — from the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread to the sight of gorgeous pastries that look as good as they taste.

What truly makes them special is the remarkable quality of ingredients and the authentic European flavor that shines through in everything they bake. You can taste the care, skill, and love in every bite — something that’s sadly so hard to find these days.

I especially want to highlight their rye bread and baguette. The rye bread is dense, moist, and deeply flavorful — perfect with just a smear of butter or as the base for a hearty sandwich. The baguette is exactly how it should be: beautifully golden with a thin, crackling crust and a tender, airy crumb inside. As someone who grew up on authentic European bread, I’m constantly disappointed by ā€œartisanalā€ bakeries that don’t deliver on flavor or texture. But Rocket Baby absolutely nails it.

If you love honest, high‑quality bread and pastries made with passion and skill, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won’t be disappointed!

My concern is with the online ordering. When submitting an online order, the pickup time is 45 minutes after submitting, which is fine if you plan ahead.

However, the last 3 times I’ve ordered online, I have arrived to pick up 45 minutes after ordering, and then had to wait 30+ minutes on top of that to actually get my food.

The staff is constantly working so hard and doing their best. They are so friendly too. I’m not sure where the issue is but it is frustrating to wait that long for a breakfast sandwich.

Don’t go unless you’re not starving and have a ton of time on your hands.

I will add that the food is incredible. I love the breakfast sandwiches and the croissants are the softest in the entire Milwaukee area.

Again, the staff is wonderful, they are so kind and helpful despite being so busy.

Food is really good but there is no way it should take 2 hours for a few breakfast sandwiches. The online order eta is way off. Definitely don’t come hungry.

The food is great, we used to love stopping by on walks and ordering from the walk up window. Unfortunately they no longer allow this. We now have to use their online ordering system which is not great. The biggest issue is how inaccurate the estimated ready time is. I’ve begun showing up showing up at least 20 minutes after the estimated time and I still without fail end up having to wait another 20 minutes. We’ve stopped coming as often as a result. If you order online you have to budget close to 2 hours on weekend for them to prepare it.

I’ve heard about this place being the best bakery in town for ages, but I’ve only had bits and pieces from friends in the past, and not always fresh. So i finally gave it a good try this time to give it a proper review.

Perhaps it has been so hyped up for me that i was a bit disappointed. They are solid. But not ā€œknock me off my socksā€ good. Because there are so many up and coming bakeries and coffee shops that are doing a stellar job.

I actually really wanted to try the morning bun, but a guy just in front if me cleared them out. So i went for my second choice, kouign amann, and bought it. But when my order was up, i was told they had oversold. They were very nice and apologetic and would have refunded me or i could choose something else. So i went with the chocolate croissant.

Chocolate croissant
When i proposed going here, one of my friends voted it down and said let’s try somewhere else. She had tried their croissant here before and thought they were the same as Walmart. But i said let’s try anyway, cuz I’ve heard better. Unfortunately, the chocolate croissant did disappoint. I would have gotten the almond ones but they were out of those. These were so so, and more dense than flaky. I’m pretty particular about croissants. Thankfully, other items didn’t disappoint.

Blueberry cream danish
This was really good. Like, wow, size and taste, one of the best garnishes I’ve had.

Bacon cheddar chive danish
Another really good Danish, especially if you prefer savory over sweet. Could really taste the chives.

Multigrain bread
Good bread. Not sure that it’s the best bread I’ve ever had.

Ft. Anodyne coffee

Inside is not much of a cafe, and there is very limited seating. Outside, there is a huge pavilion-like area with huge tables. So overall, SOLID bakery with rustic vibes. But not your trendy cafe to hang out. There were a lot of takeouts, including LARGE orders of pastries - I kept seeing them disappear before my eyes.
