Employees seemed a little out of sorts and it was very chilly but besides that, the food was delicious. Enjoyed a Friday night fish fry with all the sides. Excellent food. Alcohol choices are very limited. Prices are within a normal range.

Legitimate question, how is the food so good. One problem I had was wanting to savor my food by taking small bites, but also wanting to inhale it because it was so good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, oh my God

The steak on my sandwich was rancid both in taste and smell (which I confirmed with others at my table and subsequently did not eat), I informed them as I was concerned it had gone bad and didnt want others to get served from the same meat selection and was told it was fresh that day when it was obvious something was wrong regardless of when this meat was received. All other food items we received at our table were good and our waitress was kind and very hardworking.

We visited here for lunch and to watch the Badger football game. I had a specialty hot dog and the man had a burger. It was very good! Bartender was friendly and the establishment is nice and clean. We'll be back!

We enjoyed some wings and burgers while we watched a Badger game. Great hospitality and service. 1st time there, will be back for sure.

I’m sorry, but 228 Tap House is not one I recommend. Have been there 4-5 times and every time is the same. Bartenders are rude. You walk in and they stare at you and don’t say a word. They just sit at the end of the bar and talk. Food was good the very first time they opened but service is awful. Have given them enough chances that I don’t care to go back or recommend.

My wife and I stopped in there for wing night. Thursday night is wing night .70 a wing. They were awesome. Also we had burgers. And we have non fast food burgers every Thursday night. And this place rates in the top 3 for burgers in a 20 mile radius of washington county. Will be coming back. Good selections, meats, beer, and if beers as well. Nice staff. Only down fall it was a little cold in there.

Requires a $20 cover to enjoy their DJs on weekends, despite high end clubs in the milwaukee area rarely charging as high. Also the IMMENSE security and police presence in a bar with a clientele being POC, does not sit right with me. No where else in west bend has this strong of a police/security presence, which appears prejudice. Otherwise a nice venue, would do better without raking everyone over covers on busy nights where they profit, regardless. A more reasonable cover would make a difference.

Happy with our first time here! Just the kind of place I like! Barrish type atmosphere but not trashy. Good variety and excellent service! Family friendly environment which is key for us! Really enjoyed it! My only snafu came when the bill arrived and they charged us 3.5% to use our debit/credit card. We spent a really good chunk of money there so to pay a fee is really off putting. Otherwise really excellent!

Made reservations for 5, party of 3. All of us had fish fry, cod, blue gill and perch. There were a total of 4 tables being served including ours, so they were not busy! Our waitress was wonderful and so were the appetizers. Sadly our meals were another story. The cod was so over cooked the breading looked burnt and the fish was dry. They made us new cod but it was also over cooked, just not as bad. Both the perch and blue gill were over cooked but not nearly as bad as the cod. The hush puppies were little hockey pucks they were so over cooked! The best thing on our plate was the little corn Nuggets.Because of all the good reviews we were looking forward to trying this establishment, unfortunately we won't be back. 15.00 for 2 pieces of dried cod isn't worth coming back for, sorry.

Last night we decided to try 228 Tap House in downtown West Bend. Our experience overall was outstanding! Our server Alexis Christian did a fantastic job. She was super friendly (always smiling) and she engaged well with all my kids which just made the experience all the more enjoyable. The food was served hot and fast. We tried a bit of everything as you can see from the pictures. The kids really enjoyed the Motz Sticks and the Fried Pickles (these are different as they are huge pickle spears, not just slices).I had to try the Gyro, because I have seen you guys post so many times about them and it was super tasty. The meat was tender and juicy and the tomatoes were perfectly ripe and fresh. Snagged a bite of my daughter's Reuben Sandwich at it was just as good. I would say out of everything you see in the pictures I would tell you the "Pork Wings" would be a total must try when you go in. These things are pretty awesome and a great option as a meal or an appetizer to share. So just to round this post out if you are looking for some pretty unique options like some really delicious hot dogs or breaded chicken thighs, burgers, sandwiches and a whole lot more add 228 Tap House to your list of must visit locations in Washington County. Thanks James Lebeau Jr. for the introduction to the Pork Wings!

Edit: not a fake profile. Had a bad experience. Don't care to elaborate. Very unprofessional of you to respond that way. Except that you got a bad review

Is this place ever really open?? I walk by at times it should be open and never is. I see Facebook posting after Facebook posting explaining why they aren't open today or tomorrow- seems to be endless! Why bother-just sayin!

My girlfriend and I go here all the time! Best food I’ve ever had at any bar! Service is always amazing, and when my family is in town from SC, I always take them here and we never regret it. 10/10 all around!

Shannon, Husband and daughter were amazing. First question, burger... 1/2 pound fresh, custom made. Yep??? Toasted, shiny bun, check. Crispy fries seasoned, hot tots. Cole slaw and pickle???? What a value. I couldn't eat that good at home. Brewers, beer, and comfort. I can't wait to try those other goodies. Yum.... Very impressed.
