Eaten there a couple times. Restaurant appears clean, but when u look around it’s not. Some workers are good with customer service but most of them are not, overheard what appeared to be the manager I’d assume talking down on her employees to another while sitting in the bar area. Food is mediocre. Wouldn’t come here again, I give restaurant three chances before leaving a review just in case if they are having an off day. Don’t recommend!

Let me start by saying the 3 stars I gave for the food at Gary’s Place is not typical of their food. I have been here other times and the food was fantastic. This time however I had the French Dip. The meat was very dry and flavorless. Usually you can rely on the Au Jus to add some flavor, unfortunately the Au Jus also was flavorless. I am sure my next visit to Gary’s will result in their normal high quality food.

We have been visiting Gary's Place at least weekly for about as long as it has been here. Good food. Great service. They are like family. However, at the bar, you've got to keep your wits about you. Some strange characters stroll in and the bartenders welcome all of them (see photo).

Waited over an hour for a table for 2- they forgot about us and had never removed us from their wait list. By the time we got to sit down the kitchen was about to close and we couldn't get fish tacos or prime rib- we had gone here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We got pizza and left, one of the most disappointing nights of my life.
I’m sorry, I really wanted to like this place, the location is great on the East Bank of the river on the bike trail and the patio is nice. Prices have increased considerably since the previous reviews. $30 entre. The ribs look great but were inedible. They did not come with a knife and I had great difficulty cutting them with a table knife, and on a plate that was too small to contain the food, which flew off onto the wire table .I’m afraid they were almost impossible to chew! I had asked my server what kind of ribs they were. She checked and told me they were back ribs. They were not, they were spare ribs, which I grew up on and loved, but one must cook the (@) out of them before they ever see a grill! They were smoky and well seasoned and had a delicious sauce, and adequate sides, but this was not a good choice today. The prime rib is only on Saturday, I hope they are worth it.

Our experience was off to a decent start until my mozz sticks came, they werent hot at all. We werent quite ready to order food so we just wanted to enjoy a drink or two and an appetizer. When we were ready, our waitress was no where to be seen while all the other staff sat at the bar ignoring us. It had to have been 20-30 minutes until our waitress appeared finally asking if we were ready, we said no we will just take the check. Then she wouldnt honor a coupon voucher my boyfriend had purchased trying to claim it was avtually meant for $50 worth of items not $40, when there was no where on the paper saying that. We ended up Walking to casa tequila for margs and tacos and had a much more pleasant experience. Dont come here, its not worth it

Service was slow. I never sent a meal back in my life before now. They were out of filet so we ordered ribs. They were very tough. Could barely cut with a knife and very little meat on them. Waiter knew what was wrong before we told him. Used to be a treat to come here. Will never be back. They lost there old chef and the new one is a poor replacement. This place won't last long. Oh and they sat us over a drafty register.My wife was freezing so I swapped places. What a waste of hard earned money.
