Pretzel and dipping sauces were both excellent. The server was very attentive and never left us wanting. The Hefeweizen was one of the best I've ever had and the Pilsner was a nice light pilsner solid 8/10. So bet you're wondering why only 4 overall stars? Well I made the mistake of trying a 3rd beer...the Beast of something Amber. I know beer taste is highly subjective but this was hands down the worst amber I have ever had (and it's usually my go-to style). It tasted like Old Milwaukee attempted an amber and poured a 1/2tsp of liquid smoke into it. Anyways overall GREAT experience but couldn't give a full 5 stars with a beer I hated so much. Wish there was a half star cause I do feel a bit harsh about it..

You've got to try the Salem Mac n cheese....somehow it kept regenerating in my bowl! So delicious, and I had a huge helping to take home! Oh, and our beer was also delicious!

My husband and I were in earlier this week and we had Nolan as our server. He was absolutely FANTASTIC! It got busier and busier as we sat and he handled it like a champ, greeting everyone with a smile and answering all of my questions about drinks. We’ve never had a less than excellent experience here and when I called to compliment our server again, I was greeted by Tim who served us in the summer and delivered the same fantastic service and upbeat attitude. The food is delicious, the building is clean and the staff is always kind! Thank you second Salem for being one of my favorite parts of being in Whitewater!

Food was great, but a bit pricey! Service was friendly and about average; atmosphere was ok. The place was clean inside, but we saw 2 dead rats in the parking lot on the way out (not necessarily their fault, or due to anything wrong with the restaurant, but, they should think about checking the lot intermittently in the future).
Nice place to grab a craft beer! My favorite style (Oktoberfest Märzen) just happened to be on tap when I visited, so it was a seasonal surprise! You can also take beers to-go, growler, howler, or crowler (pictured). I didn't order food, so I'm unable to review menu

Service was great. Food was great except for a hefty amount of fat on my brisket. Fries were crispy and had extra crispy on the outside, like they were batter fried. Tortellini and brussel sprouts were great for a hungry person. Atmosphere was a little edgier that my preference, but I'm sure it's a good match for a bar in a college town.
