Very friendly staff but the food is awful. I’m not from around the area and brought a group of five so I spent a little over $100 here. Food was very bland and had a strong taste of cooking oil. The decor is very pretty but if they put as much work into flavoring their food as they do on their decor then I’m sure they would be a hit. Waitress asked how we liked the food and did not address any further concern once he was told we didn’t like it and proceeded to hand us the bill. Ten minutes after leaving this restaurant 3/5 of my group had stomach issues which lead into the next day.
The food is terrible, and the worst thing is that no restaurant charges for sauce, but here in this place, they do charge you for the sauce.

Really good Mexican food for being in a tourist trap. For the Dells, it's priced reasonably enough. Same as the Jose's in Baraboo if you're familiar with the area.

The name says Jose's Authentic Mexican Restaurant. We live in deep South Texas (South Padre Island area) and we taste authentic Mexican food everyday. I am sorry to say this is not Authentic tasting food. It looks authentic but is lacking in the spices that makes an authentic Mexican dish. The tortillas were store bought. You go to many restaurants along the border and there will be someone in the back slaving away making tortillas by hand. You cannot duplicate handmade tortillas. The food was a bit bland, it still lacked some Mexican spice. I asked for a lemonade made with mineral water and they said they only had pre-made lemonade. If you go to any high end Mexican restaurant down south, a lemonade made with mineral water is normal.
The staff was nice. We cannot complain about that. The atmosphere was good too. They just need to work on their food for authenticity.

The food was terrible here. I ordered a enchiladas other than what was on the menu and I was charged a la carte for all items resulting in a higher charge than the menu items.

Totally recommend eating here. We got the nachos vallartas and steak tacos and it was all delicious. Our server, Francisco C, was wonderful as well.

The service was lousy. We were here on vacation with a large family including two toddlers. Since it was a large group the bill would not be split between the two household heads. Also, there was a 18% tip automatically added. They completely forgot one of the toddler's dinner, not getting it to the table until after everyone else was done eating, which is hard to explain to 5 year old. We also asked for a hotter sausa for our chips, which they said "ok" but never delivered. The whole attitude of the staff was that they already got their tip, so they did not have to serve or even care. I would avoid this place. There are other Mexican restaurants in town that would serve you with a smile.

The truth is I didn't like the service from the moment I entered, I had to ask if I had to sit down or they would pass me, it took too long just to sit down and the restaurant was empty, the waitress who served me had terrible service, I preferred to cancel my meal.

As someone who just moved up here from Texas, I’ve been struggling to find Mexican food that reminds me of home. Jose’s fit the bill! Our service was okay, but the food came out super fast and we got sat immediately. Once again, the food was great! I just wished it was a little spicer, but that’s my palette! Will be returning!

If i could give this place zero stars I would. My brother got married 9/27/24 up in Wisconsin Dells. He had booked joses for a late night snack 6-8 months out and had planned on a taco truck to be there at 9:30 the night of 9/27/24. Around 10pm my brother called joses cell phone multiple times with no answer. After talking to jose the day before and stating that he would be there. Luckily my brother didnt pay him anything beforehand, i wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Who does that to someone on the night of there wedding?
