I have had a better steak in Chicago for less than what I paid. Sides are the price of an entire in similar restaurants.
I celebrated my birthday there last year and everything was fantastic. This year, not so much. They were out of many items. My wine was corked. No one even came to check on us. It took until our dinner arrived before the wine could be exchanged. The filet was NOT medium rare and for that price, it should have been cooked to perfection. The sides were good and my husband's steak was prepared just fine. For that price, the service should have been better and the food should be on point.
Waiter and manager ruined the experience. Others with a different server seemed fantastic. We had cold, overcooked steaks and so did the table next to us. Our waiter came back 2 and didn't even remove dirty plates. Other tables seated at the same time had eaten and left before we even got our food. Manager offered a free dessert but we were charged for it. Again, other tables with a different server didn't seem to have the same problem. It wasn't too busy or understaffed as there were open tables. However not the service expected for a $500 meal.
The tables were too close together . The restaurant was very loud. My soda was not freshened up during the visit. The steaks were not seasoned. You needed the add-on/sauces to add flavor. My steak was cold and so was the broccoli. The crab/ shrimp cakes and loaded mashed potatoes were good.
Food and drinks were exceptionally good. Serviced was to be desired. We were sat at a table and ignored for 20 minutes. I had to go find the host to get anything done. By then the experience was out the window. They comped one of our drinks. If I should try it again I would hope for a better experience
Service was great. Prime Rib was tough and not heated all the way through. Mashed potatoes were average. Drinks were good. Crème Brûlée was okay. People were in casual clothes, felt out of place being in a shirt and tie. Had high hopes but was disappointed.
This use to be one of our favorite places to eat; food has always been outstanding, quite expensive, but worth it for the quality of the food in the area. Over the past few years, the service has gone downhill. Go there for the food and maybe you'll be lucky enough to get one of the tenured waitstaff who will take good care of you (there are a few still there, unfortunately we haven't been so lucky recently).
Words can not describe how good the food, service, and atmosphere are! If you're in the area, Kaminski's is a must do experience!
We've been to Kaminski's before, and though it is very expensive, it seemed worth the price. Not this time though. I had the WORST lobster tail ever. Evidently, the kitchen doesn't know how to remove the tough membrane along with the shell. The green beans were just "blanched" so pretty much like eating them raw. The salads were ok but would have been better adding iceberg lettuce. Our Grasshopper desert drink was so liquid, it had to be eaten with a straw. The only saving grace was the fried onions and my husband's tenderloin tips. Someone said Kaminski's no longer own the restaurant, and things have gone downhill with the new owners. Hope they can improve things . . .
service was wonderful. The Hashbrown dish is outstanding. The smoking old fastion was wonderful. not an every weekend due to cost but great food with excellent serivce with top grade steaks.

We were looking forward to trying this restaurant as we were in town from Chicago & did quite a bit of “research” prior to making reservations. We recognize that our standards are high & typically the Wisconsin Dells isn't “known” for great food...so we were really trying to choose wisely. The ambience & server were great. Unfortunately, other than that, extremely disappointed. Portions are way too large and food was below mediocre. The prices, in no means matched the quality. We will not be returning.
Never disappointed at Kaminski's. Food and service is always great. It's my favorite place to go on my birhday!
The best old fashion real steak house I've ever been to! This was my second visit and it won't be my last. Great service, great food. Certainly not inexpensive I believe we ended up at 350.00 for two before gratuities were added, but certainly worth it for a special evening. The atmosphere is okay, dark vintage could probably be updated a little bit?? I wear hearing aids and have had to ask both times to be moved to the bar so the background noise didn't affect my evening. Yes! Great place I'll be back!
I enjoyed Kaminski's and it is true size does matter. I could not believe the portion sizes and the food was delicious.
My sister and I had an excellent experience at Kaminski's. Our waitstaff, Isabella, was very helpful with their advice on making our decisions about our meal. They were so persuasive that we went with the hash browns, which were divine. Everything was delightful, especially the salad. Highly recommend.
