The only option for food in wilderness on the lake and honestly, you’re better off finding a fast food restaurant. It’ll be faster to get dressed and drive somewhere else and bring it back than wait 10 min for 2 gross hotdogs for $20. Wilderness is going downhill fast.

Reserved the 3 bedroom loft. More than enough space for a big family with full kitchen and utensils. The bathrooms are huge...we think it's wasted space but nice to have. pantry. A lot of space for storage. We stayed on a weekday and price was reasonable if sharing with other family.

This is the perfect place for a getaway for the family. It’s pricey but worth it. Many swim areas to choose from indoors and outdoors. The food was typical junk food that kids like to eat. Nothing healthy for adults to enjoy except some areas had drink stations.

The first thing we noticed was that none of the doors inside the room lock. The second thing was that there were ants by the large bath coming through a crack in the wall. The room smelled a bit when we entered and we even tried to get rid of the smell ourselves. The pools and parks were enjoyable but half the water slides seem to be broken and the shuttle waits were absurdly long. When I checked in, some alarm went off and the front desk worker went to go check on it but that had me waiting at the front desk for about 10 minutes before someone helped me again. It’s affordable for a nice guys trip but I don’t know if we’ll be back.

We returned to Wilderness on the Lake after about a 3 year hiatus…and with two additional kids. The room was terrific, clean and roomy. Beds were comfy, and the room thermostat worked accurately. The hot tub functioned as it should. I’m impressed with the wide hallways and Doorways. The water park was clean, but is showing its age with a lot of patches and repairs. It’s too bad that corporate didn’t use the pandemic downtime for a refurbishment. Still, it didn’t feel scuzzy, just “used.” The water park was a bit “meh” for my 11 year old, without the outdoor pool open for the season, but we knew that might be the case when we booked. The other two kids had a hoot! There was a lot of late-night activity at the hot tub, bar and in some of the rooms. But I was impressed to hear security was quick to tamp down the noise. Wilderness on the Lake only gets three stars however, for the following two reasons: 1. I continue to be disappointed in The Wilderness corporate, that, there STILL are not a lot of Gluten Free options on the property as a whole (including the big resort). It’s better than in the past. But I just don’t have a lot of confidence that the front desk staff can give accurate recommendations on allergy-safe restaurant options. For the premium price The Wilderness charges, allergy-friendly options need to be a must accommodate , not a “I think they can.” 2. Which brings me to the cost. For close to the same price-per-night, my family of 5 could stay at Disney’s Riviera Resort. The accommodations, food options and amenities around the Riviera, are on a completely different level than the Wilderness on the Lake. If The Wilderness is going to charge a premium price, they need to consider the competition, and rise to the occasion. Currently, there’s a pretty big gap in quality of vacation.

Currently 12:31, I don’t get as much sleep as is, but from previous night of getting 4 hours, now I’m sitting up hearing elephants.. ridiculous.. next time IF I come, I’ll make sure to prepare not to sleep..

Went on a Sunday night very quiet! Beautiful view awesome big Jacuzzi 2 fireplaces beds were comfy lots of towels even had a washer and dryer my only Complaints are: No sample laundry soap, no salt or pepper packets and for some reason no dish washcloth only 1 towel to dry dishes only 1 pot holder! We used gas grill provided outside to cook our steaks very nice plus! Staff was very nice and helpful wonderfully stay!

We stayed at Wilderness on the Lake from Oct 1- Oct 3 (2 night stay). 2 bedroom condo was lovely and quiet. We left this morning around 10:30 am, 30 minutes prior to check out. At 11:30 my husband called the hotel because we realized we left some things behind. We were routed to Gail in the Lost and Found department. She was so accommodating and friendly. My husband explained to her what we had left behind (a very sentimental insulated coffee cup etc) and Gail totally made him feel good about it. She said she would go to our condo and check it out and find it for us. AND SHE DID! and she called my husband back! Great customer service. They are going to ship it to us. We are so happy about the outcome. We will for sure tell others about our most recent experience with The Wilderness Resort. We have been visiting over a decade and it has always been a great time!! Thank you Gail from the Lost and Found department. You deserve a raise! Thank you for being so caring!!

Wilderness On The Lake was GREAT. We had the 2 bedroom condo. The bedrooms are nicely separated for privacy with 1 bathroom for each bedroom. One bedroom had a king bed and the other had 2 queens. There was also a twin rollaway bed and a crib ready if needed. You can easily sleep 8 in this condo. There was a full kitchen equipped with essential needs, living room, dining area, balcony, and an in condo jacuzzi on the balcony. There were 2 fireplaces, one in the living room and one on the enclosed balcony. The balcony overlooked the lake which was very relaxing. There is a shuttle that will take you to each of the Wilderness resorts if you want to explore them all or you can drive your car. Each resort has indoor and outdoor waterparks but each is unique in it's own way. They do a good job of catering to both adults, teens, and tots. Children under 48" are required to wear a life vest which they have available on site. I felt this was a nice safety feature. Each park included slides for all ages, lazy rivers, splash pads and arcades. The site with wave pool has private air conditioned cabanas that you can rent for the day and a staff member that will take care of your food & drink needs (food & drink are extra of course). There is also a swim-up Tiki Bar for the adults in your group. The arcades each feature different options like a multi-level go-cart track, laser tag, escape room, overhead skill park with zip lining & balance beams, and of course games galore. The only thing I felt was lacking was a variety of healthy food options. We searched for fruit bowls, high quality salads, and vegetable dishes but it wasn't there. The steakhouse however is fantastic!!! The age range of our group of 5 was between 4yrs and 74yrs. We all used the waterslides and had a wonderful time. There's something for everyone. I highly recommend Wilderness On The Lake for your next family vacation.

We have stayed at the Wilderness on the Lake 5 years in a row. All were good experiences until the last time (in 2018, the last 2 summers I've been in the hospital.) We always stay on the ground floor next to the large patio and grills. Then last time our stay was ruined by a large party going on on the patio right outside our door every night. They played VERY loud Mexican music, brought in cooler after cooler of food and drinks. Used most of the grills, played soccer or catch. Screaming and laughing constantly until it got dark. They even had to gall to keep knocking on our screen door asking to heat their refried beans in our microwave!!! THEY OBVIOUSLY WERE NOT HOTEL GUESTS and were taking advantage of the free grills and that the hotel employees can't see them partying on that side of the building. We would love to come back but not if that is still going on this summer. Please respond. Thank you.
