The food has definitely changed. The flounder was super thin (thinnest I have ever seen a piece of flounder) and was very hard to cut. The service was great though!

Where do I begin? Our first visit was in the evening and I enjoyed the double cheese burger which I believe is the Mountain Papa. It was cooked to perfection and came with a substantial serving of fries. My wife and I came back for breakfast and it included scrambled eggs, bacon, toast or a tasty biscuit and fried potatoes. It was quite tasty and like the night before, service was stellar, friendly and enjoyable. We made a later afternoon visit for ice cream. The lunch and dinner menus are extensive and included one of my favorites, hamburger steak, and locals rave about the fried chicken. It's your place for dependable, tasty food and wonderful service.

You can't go wrong with a diner type restaurant such as this. It's one of several reasons to take a day trip down to Alderson. It's in a convenient location l, right beside the main road, so you can't miss it as you're driving along the Greenbrier River. My favorite option here is the Steak Sandwich with some Fries. The Strak Sandwich has got to be one of the best I've ever from a small town restaurant. It's savory, cheesy, and delicious. I've also had one of the burgers. That was also good eating. If you're ever driving through the town of Alderson, I highly recommend stopping by this place. It's a great experience especially if you're exploring the town.
