Great lunch today at The RailYard with Bill and our friend , Jack, from Roanoke. My salad was fresh and delicious and their burgers were beyond “good”. The peanut butter pie was scrumptous! Such a great meal.
Great place for groups!

(NOTE: I don’t truly “not recommend “ this establishment, as I’ve enjoyed it greatly every other time, there was no option to give it a more “average” review) I visit the Railyard semi regularly as it is my go to restaurant whenever I head downtown, and usually have a fantastic experience, but my latest visit lacked the usual friendly service that they’ve had before. I asked to sit out on the patio (as I usually do) because it’s a very nice afternoon, and they said that was fine but that they’d be having some live music outside later in the evening and that it may get busy outside. I initially assumed it was just a warning that it could get loud so I said it was okay and expressed that I was excited for the music. But during my visit there were little things that continued to make me feel unwelcome. When I sat down I was given very little time to decide on my order (waitress asked me immediately before I even looked at the menu), and then took the menu away the moment my order was in. That was fine, I figured if I wanted a desert I could ask about it later. Well within less than 45 minutes of sitting down, and less than 25 of getting my food, I was brought my check without asking for it. No offering any boxes (my food was half eaten), no asking if I wanted a desert or shake (which I was planning to order). So I paid my bill (still tipped) and finished what I could of my drink and left. Now I know these are very small things, but my previous experiences have always been fantastic so these instances stood out to me. I understand being busy and even wanting to prioritize large groups, but I am still and paying customer and I was the only person out on the patio, and this left a bitter taste in my mouth
My family came here last November and received horrible service, we are from Nc and only come a few times a year to ride. We had always visited here and last time left us a bad taste, but it was my husband’s birthday and he wanted their food, so we gave it a second chance. Mikayla G. (our server) was absolutely incredible. She had a phenomenal demeanour and joy radiated off of her. Everything came out beautifully. Water as soon as we came in, talked to our children on their level, kids meal out first, food hot and right. I’m not sure what all has changed, but tonight has made us want to come back again. The manager Brenda was charming and seemed to truly care as well. She checked on us and several tables helping her servers out like a manager ought to. I truly appreciate tonight, it made our night so smooth. Highly recommend asking for Mikayla G if you want excellent service. Bobbi Gray
Nice, small, intimate venue with decent amounts of seating. Good acoustics. Came here for CanJam 15, which is an excellent local music festival supporting a good cause.
Did not go here
Excellent food and service! Highly recommend the railroad burger and the French Onion Soup!! Will definitely stop again when I'm in the area!
This is an excellent restaurant. The service was exceptional especially Makayla. This young lady has tremendous smile and knows how to treat people. She brought out water for everyone before taking our appetizer order. The food was delivered quickly and was very tasty. I highly recommend the stop. Hopefully, you will get Makayla as your waitress.
When you want to get off the interstate and have real food, this is an excellent stop. Husband had excellent Cubano, I had an excellent hamburger and so did friend. Service was excellent. Bathrooms clean. Well worth stopping by.
Nestled in the heart of Bluefield, WV, enjoy a meal of fish, chicken or beef. Had the fish wrap which was crispy and didn’t fall apart or have sauce run down your arm. The fries are delicious! Enjoy a renowned milkshake for dessert! Open Sunday - closed Monday.

All the burgers were great, really great. Cheese dip, great. Beer was cold and the milkshakes were great, but the lollipop lamb chops, fatty, overdone and way too expensive to try again. The French onion soup, it was kind of just broth with stuff in it, not a fan. I guess with our experience, it was average. If we ever go again, just burgers and beer.
Great food & awesome service! I ordered a chocolate milkshake and it’s the best I’ve ever had! I also ordered a Caesar chicken wrap which could’ve had more chicken but overall I’d say everything was very satisfying! I’ll definitely be coming back. My husband ordered a Philly and tater tots, everything was so good! I recommend this place to anyone!
Make sure you’re hungry if you plan to dine here. And don’t forget to leave room for one of their monster shakes. The menu has something for anyone’s taste - and so delicious.
Oh this food was fantastic! I ordered the fried green tomato sandwich and loved it. My issues with it were that there were only 2 total (pretty small) tomatoes on the whole sandwich and it really just wasn’t enough. The bun was also so saturated in butter or oil it was like dripping off my sandwich. Otherwise really great though. It also took a long time to get served. But the general feel to the place was laid back and seemed fun. Seems like a good idea to get there early as it was packed by the time we left!
Cool location, relaxed/casual atmosphere with amazing food. It is a fun menu with unexpected surprises like Kobe Beef bespoke burgers. The drink menu and bartender's skills are top notch as well. We will definitely be back again.
