A Humiliating and Unlawful Experience for a Disabled Veteran My attempt to have dinner at Pies & Pints in Fayetteville was not just disappointing; it was a deeply humiliating and discriminatory experience that I feel compelled to share, especially for the benefit of other individuals with disabilities and fellow veterans. As a disabled American veteran, I am accompanied by a fully trained and legitimate service animal. Upon arriving, I was not greeted with hospitality, but with suspicion and hostility from the management. I was immediately stopped and questioned about my service animal in a manner that was both inappropriate and embarrassing. In front of other patrons, I was accosted by the manager and forced to discuss my private medical diagnosis and the specific conditions that necessitate my service animal. This line of questioning is not only a gross invasion of privacy but is also in direct violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). To make matters worse, after being subjected to this interrogation, I was brazenly told that the ADA "didn't recognize" my animal and that I would not be allowed to enter. Let me be clear for the management of Pies & Pints and for anyone reading this: The ADA protects the rights of people with disabilities to be accompanied by their service animals. Staff are legally permitted to ask only two questions: (1) Is the animal a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) What work or task has the animal been trained to perform? Demanding to know a person's diagnosis or denying entry based on a misunderstanding of the law is unacceptable. To be treated this way anywhere would be awful, but to be a veteran who has served this country only to be denied a simple meal and publicly shamed is beyond disheartening. This establishment showed a complete lack of respect, compassion, and basic knowledge of federal law. I am sharing this experience to warn others, particularly those in the disabled community. The treatment I received was shameful. I will never return, and I strongly urge anyone who believes in fair and lawful treatment for all to take their business to an establishment that values respect and dignity over ignorance and discrimination.
Awesome food, amazing atmosphere, friendly helpfull staff. I whole heartedly recommend.
Food was okay-nothing special. Service was subpar-even sitting at the bar. Stated with bartender forgot to bring drinks. Ate there but also ordered takeout. After extremely long time & drinks finished & empty around 40 minutes, , asked about status of the takeout pizza. Told ‘oh its been ready, waiting for you to finish drinks”?!?! Pretty pathetic if they just forgot or whatever. Said drinks been empty long time-brought out lukewarm pizza. Not swamped but steady crowd -so not ivershelmingly busy for such lack of service.
Great experience & service as our reservation got mixed up after a long wait. Manager and servers were A+ at the Fayetteville location. 06-19-25
This place is FANTASTIC! We hiked the gorge, saw the mine, and ended our short trip with amazing beer (incredible root beer for the kids), a playground, and amazing pizza! The Italian was great and our server, Cora, was the so sweet, a native to the area and gave us beer, pizza and hiking recommendations. Don’t miss this amazing place!
If you're in the area, you'll want to stop here for some of the best pizza I've had. The service was great. Overall experience was excellent from food to service and atmosphere.
Had some great pizza and beer after a long morning hiking. This is definitely the best place around to get your craft beer fix on. Highly recommend.
Excellent food. We got the antipasta salad, wings, and a chicken sandwich. Everything was great
Was suggested by the staff of the bridge walk. Great food!
We were just out walking and the wonderful smell made us go in!!

Spent vacation in town and had our eye on pies and pints as our starting point. Pizza was perfection and the local beer choice was spot on. Great way to start our time in Fayetteville WV. We ended up coming back.
I am SO glad I decided to come here!
The location itself is cool and has a variety of seating, but both the food and service were incredible. The beer selection is great, the ceasar salad was among the best I’ve ever had, and the white pizza with pepperoni was wonderful. My only regret is ordering too much without having a fridge to store things in since I’m camping.
I also want to shout out Cora as being an 11/10 server. She was so kind and friendly, was super knowledgeable about the place, about town, and about the national park, and she went out of her way to answer any questions people had about the area. Seriously one of the best servers I’ve ever had!

The pies are better than average with many good combinations. The service and care for customers has room for improvement.
I would lower my expectations and probably go back just for the food.
