First visit: My partner and I each got the black bean burger with a side of fries, and we were told though it wasn’t labeled it was vegan as is. The burger was delicious and had big portions of veggies on it, but the side of fries was super small for the $3 extra it cost. Overall it was much pricier and smaller portions than some places (like The Take Out nearby that we just got our second meal from as our takeout dinner while in town). Second visit: my partner and I got the tofu scramble (vegan as is) and iced lattes with oatmilk (mine with maple, not on the menu but available if you ask, and his with orange and vanilla syrup). Yum! I am glad I added avocado and pepper hash because like I mentioned in my prior visit review portions are not big. We were also excited to see that they sell vegan labeled stroop waffles, so we got 2 to go. Updated from previous review on 2025-06-20

Super friendly staff, amazing fresh food and dog friendly! Recommend the Zoey Crush house drink.

Great coffee, delicious food, cool atmosphere, and lovely staff. Stopped on our way out of town after visiting New River Gorge NP. If you are looking for a local breakfast place, it’s not to be missed. Give Jimmy the dog a pat on the head for us!

I came to Wood Iron after a hike and I was so pleased! Great drip coffee (with free refills!), and the staff was so so kind. Would definitely dine here again. :)

I am visiting from out of state and wanted to check out a good coffee spot. Several in the area didn't interest me or the coffee was basic. I checked out Wood Iron and I appreciate receiving a cappuccino that was coffee with milk and not the other way around like many other places. Thank you for the delicious coffee.

Location is an old building which looks cool in my opinion. Brought back some memories of when I used to live up north when I was younger.

Had the breakfast burrito and it was really good too. Anyways, id love to visit this town again for the people I met last night while drinking and this eatery.

Note, breakfast menu is small but definitely good. No complaints

Delicious food, yummy coffee & friendly staff!

Vegetarian options: Tofu scramble, vegan bridge burger, housemade granola with fruit & oat/almond milk instead of yogurt, breakfast burrito with tofu instead of eggs & I add grilled veggies! Gluten free or sourdough bread option for all sandwiches.

Kid-friendliness: Playroom upstairs with books, toys, swing, climbing wall & plenty of room to stretch & get wiggles out

Wheelchair accessibility: Big parking lot in back with straight sidewalk to door

While in town we tried several breakfast spots, I felt this place had the tastiest breakfast, I got the burrito deliciously spiced, not just “thrown together” also the lattes were the best, not over or under flavored, wish we hadn’t gone on the last day so we could go again!

The cutest and yummiest little cafe! I ordered the loaded tots and absolutely did NOT regret my decision!! Featured is a cinnamon bun latte- again, delicious! Highly recommend!
