My wife and I drove up from Charleston on Saturday, July 15, 2023 to eat. We arrived around 4:00 pm and the restaurant was closed. According to their website, they were open. A rude lady in front of the restaurant stated nothing is open in Gassaway on Saturday night. But she used more “colorful” language. Total let down. Drove back to Charleston to eat. Great experience, not.

Lovely atmosphere and great food definitely stop in and have a bite to eat if your traveling through Gassaway
The food here was delicious, huge portions, and very friendly staff. This place is one of the beat kept secrets in Gassaway west virgina and is lbtq+ friendly. If your up this way stop in and check them out!
Lovely place, food incredible, went above and beyond for the Irish family that came in today
This is definitely gem go eat at, we will go back! and the waiters so very nice, they all also very friendly, they made sure our drinks never got low even come back checked on us to make sure our food was good, which it was. It was very good come out in no time, I recommend you take your family definitely go here, really loved positive energy everyone had, thank you for serving me and my family today we really enjoyed being here :)
Unique would be an understatement. Tucked away in the little town of Gassaway, they served up wonderful customer service and yummy food. We stopped in on Saturday around 2pm and the place was dead and I thought about nixing it in favor of a livelier place, but we’re so glad we didn’t. Our waiter was so friendly and the chef went above and beyond; making food for us that wasn’t even on the menu. He made mashed potatoes for my little one from scratch without any extra seasonings (he’s 7mos and still on bland baby food) but my little one loved them. We started with some chips and salsa; both made fresh in house. The salsa had a bit of spice to it, and the chips were crunchy yet soft. Both were delicious. Two of us ordered burgers and the other in our group ordered a chicken wrap. The burgers were homestyle on country bread. They were thick and while somewhat “done” they weren’t overdone. The fries were genuine fresh house-made and not like any I’d had before. Now, my one of 2 critiques would be the fries needed more salt. My second would be they were out of a lot of things. They’d had a large crowd the night before and hadn’t had time to restock. The waiter said the majority of things were locally sourced. Overall a very unique dining experience, and we look forward to going back next time we’re in the area. Oh, and the cookies and scones from Penny’s were really good too! Everything was very reasonably priced and the 3 1/2 of us ate for less than $60.

This is the most unique restaurant you'll ever go to. Definitely do not miss it when in Gassaway. You'll see diner theater, live music, and different events. It tends to be a hang out for local artists and you'll meet some very colorful locals. Great atmosphere, it's a big old building and the owner does a lot with it to help the community. Food is always great!

We found this hidden gem on our most recent camping trip. The owners truly exemplify West Virginian hospitality. They are very friendly and down to earth. I love their saying, “come as you are.” The food is just as delicious as they are friendly.
Avoid this place, we placed our orders, more than an hour later food finally came, my order of Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo was overcooked, I guess they reheated it in the microwave because the fettuccine was like brown color and hard, the other order was peppers stuffed crab cakes and it was dry, the Burger was overcooked too, the fries were cooked and then dumped in the frier to give them the oil taste. At all costs don't go to this place! It really was a disappointing experience.
Great vibe, eclectic, and family & pet friendly diner. They were super kind & welcoming to my family and served up affordable grilled cheese samdwiches, club sandwiches, fresh -brewed ice tea and meatloaf. Basic eats in a cool venue, leading the charge to revitalize the little downtown area. Great job! Highly recommend supporting this small business!

We were told this is a must go to and locals were raving it. I did love the theme and how it was decorated. The server was super nice and friendly. The issue we had was they were out of basically everything. It took about an hour to get our food. Two of us got grilled 3 cheese toast. The toast was small, burnt and the cheese was cold. The kitchen staff couldnt get the burgers made correctly. I will say the burger I ordered was tasty. One of our party left because the orders were wrong. I'm not sure if they were busy earlier and ran out of supplies or what, but if a restaurant is that low on supplies they need to close for the day. I will add we got a discount for how our experience there went so I respect the business for that. Not sure if I'd ever return if inthe area again.
Fantastic atmosphere. Delicious food. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend the meatloaf!
