Small town spot with great food! It may not look like much to some, but we've never had a bad meal here. Perfect stop outside of North Bend State Park. Baked steak with potatoes and plenty of other sides to pick from. Burgers and fries are just as great!

If you were looking for a movie set for a small town diner and rural West Virginia, you would not have to do anything to make this place perfect for a movie set. The food was simple but very delicious. The prices are very reasonable.

My husband and I had a late lunch today at the Sandwich Shop in Harrisville WV. This was our first time there and I regret waiting so long to do so. My husband had BLT sandwiches which were perfect, the bacon cooked to perfection and plenty on each sandwich. I had a perfect bacon cheeseburger and an awesome side salad. The salad was of good size and very, very fresh and crispy. I usually leave tomatoes out of a salad because they are always squishy and bland, but not these ones! The tomatoes tasted like they were fresh from the garden. They purchase much of their produce from the Amish, so it is of superb quality and freshness which was evident with the tomatoes and lettuce which is not bagged lettuce with preservatives sprayed on it. If you are looking for a glitzy blingy atmosphere this isn't the place. If you are looking for a small restaurant with antique tin ceilings to sit under while eating perfectly prepared fresh and tasty food, this is for you. The prices are fair with nice portions. If I understood correctly, they would even cook made-to-order items not shown on their menu board. They also have a nice breakfast menu and open at 6am for that. There is a lot to see in Harrisville so if you are traveling through try to set aside a little time to check it out. Close to the Sandwich Shop is the famous Berdines Five & Dime which is like a step back in time. Also, if you are in Harrisville at just the right time (usually Saturday mornings), there is an automobile museum that is simply amazing and only accepts donations to tour it. It is also like a step back in time and worth your time if you are interested in cars. I have veered off track a bit from the Sandwich Shop review so I will return to that and close. Seriously, you can go to nearby Subway and get what you get, or you can come to the Sandwich Shop for near the same money and have so much more. If you leave hungry it is your own fault!

Just finished our meal here. Loved it! If you use the Blue Highways calendar system, this is a three-calendar diner. The place is homey and unpretentious, while serving simple, home-cooked dishes that are very good (and excellent coffee). We had a burger stacked high, a delectable ham and cheese sandwich, and a tall bowl of chunky beef vegetable soup. We all walked away very satisfied. This will be the place I look for if I ever pass this way again. Thank you!

Very Friendly, relaxed and nothing but down home cooking with ladies that have more experience in the kitchen than I do in life. The rhubarb pie was 100% "made from scratch" and baked the same day not frozen.
