My second time to this restaurant and it has gone down hill to the point that I would rather go to Pizza Hut. There were only six entrees on the menu. They did not have two items the night we were there. No fish, chicken, lamb, or duck on the menu. If you want more of a fine dining meal, I suggest you make the short drive to Pipestem and try the Oak Supper Club.
Didn't have our Open Table reservation, when we arrived. I dropped off my wife and parents (they are in their mid 80's), but, the hostesses (2), quickly announced there was no reservation -- even when I showed my phone with the email confirmation, they denied any such reservation and were very rude. My parents are REGULARS there, so, this is unacceptable. While they did end up seating us, quite begrudgingly, I will not go back there -- it's just okay, even without the inappropriate behavior from the staff, whom brushed us off with some kind of comment, indicating the owner doesn't use / honor Open Table. I don't live in that town, so, I would have no way of knowing that. Suggest you remove the listing of Chessie's from Open Table, if that's how your clients are received, when they arrive for confirmed reservations.

While the food and atmosphere are nice we were disappointed in the menu changes from our last experience. Beware there are no fish or poultry entrees available now. My dad especially wanted the bread pudding for his 86th birthday celebration for which we had a 5:30 reservation. They were already out of it. So our big evening on the town in Hinton was disappointing for our family. We do hope that the community will continue to support a fine restaurant in our town though and that Chessies can bring back some of their previous menu options.

The interior of this place is insane... in such a creative, historic, wonderful way. This is the fanciest restaurant in downtown Hinton. Great place for a very special special date. I always dress up to come here. I am a huge fan of the BBQ egg rolls.
