No greeting when we came in. Stood there looking annoyed. Asked if they had unsweetened tea, she said "I don't think so". Butt fries and Bull fries would have been really good if there was more than a tablespoon of meat on them!

This place is amazing my Wife and I stopped in because we were craving some BBQ to take home and this establishment did NOT disappoint. My Wife got the Brisket Sandwich Dinner with fries and mac n cheese and she enjoyed every bit. I got the Pork Sandwich Dinner with baked beans and cole slaw which I thought was very delicious, pork was full of flavor and had to be the best cole slaw I’ve had in a long time!! They give their house BBQ sauce in a cup and hot sauce so you can add however much you please. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful.

It’s unfortunate that the food was so bad here. My wife and I ate dinner here, had the loaded fries, hers with pork, mine with brisket. The meat was soggy and flavorless. Within minutes of leaving the parking lot, we were getting sick on the side of the road. It’s overpriced for food that’s just not good. Not to mention we were there at 6 on a Saturday, and it was empty??? How is this place still in business??

I'm not sure what others think is real BBQ if they give this place 4+ stars. We were there around 12:30, so the height of lunchtime. Our first indication should've been the single table of 3 diners, and they didn't appear to be particularly pleased. The decor and our own desire for good BBQ made us oblivious, and we charged right in ready to love the place. My wife had the brisket sandwich, mac-n-cheese, and green beans. There was ample brisket, but it was dried out and dripped grease. It didn't seem to be seasoned at all. The mac-n-cheese were nice big plump mac noodles but served with a greasy paste and no flavor of cheese. The green beans were over cooked and reminded us of a school cafeteria - even so, they were the best part of her meal. The menu was very enticing, and against my normal diet (I don't handle fat well) I ordered the Bull Fries - french fries smothered in brisket, cheese, and topped with scallions and sour cream(?). The fries were crisp and very well seasoned, but I had the same flavorless, dried out, insult-to-the-cow-that-gave-its-life brisket. The cheese sauce tasted like it was out of a big can (i.e. ballgame nacho cheese). In all, my wife thinks I'm being very charitable giving them 2 stars for the food. The gent behind the counter (there appeared to be a single employee) neither smiled nor indicated he was happy to see us - even though there was virtually no business on a Tuesday lunch. The decor is spot on, the menu imaginatively presented, and the sauces at each table were moderately good. We're on vacation. If we lived in the area, we'd not return.

Imagine a small elementary school cafeteria that offers barbecue kept under heating lamps all day long, crisping all moisture out of the ribs to the point that the meat turns into jerky. That is the experience offered at hog wild. Do not waste your money.Edit for response to hog wild’s response: if you’re incapable of handling a rush, then perhaps you should consider moving your location away from a FAIR GROUND and/or take note of when events will be happening in your town so that you are adequately staffed

I had the Butt Fries. The fries are sturdy and stand up well to nacho cheese, pulled pork, scallions, & sour cream poured all over them. They have 4 sauces to choose from at the tables. The hot is just the right amount of heat. None over power the flavor of your dish. I had coleslaw as a side. It's extremely fine cut & balances the sweet & vinegar taste well.
