Food was cold, flavorless and lack luster. Advertised at a V-Day $60 a plate event, but the food quality was that of $20 at best. The thin ribeye was precooked at Medium well leaving it tough and dry. Chicken was flavorless and overcooked as well. Also included 20% gratuity on the bill for a party of 2. Service was good but facility needs better lighting to walk to and from the parking lot. I had to use my phone flashlight to navigate the uneven walk way. Will not come back.

My family attended the Thanksgiving meal. It was an early seating... 11:40a I believe. Seating was easy and quick. I believe we were one of 3 tables that early. Both of them were seated earlier and were into their plates. We were not offered the advertised melted Brie at the table. It was about 30 minutes in when we saw the server to ask for it. That was after later seatings had it brought to them which made us trigger to ask. The couple already eating when we came in asked afterwards because they were left out as well. All other servers were offering it as they took drink orders. I guess we arrived too early for them to be on their game. Drinks... well we didn’t see our server much and had to flag down others for refills or cocktail orders. They lost out on cocktail purchases by delaying monitoring our glasses. Is what it is. Food was ok. Not great but most definitely not bad. The buffet items were easy but the servers behind items like the mash were skimpy. Oysters were a great item. They were not fresh shucked. Low grade but I’m a bit of an oyster snob I guess. Lacked flavor. Still tied to the shell and ice cold as of recently defrosted on the half shell. All toll we had an good time but won’t do it again. The biggest issue was a mandatory 20% tip applied to the bill for a table of 4. For a buffet. With a mediocre server. That hit me the wrong way. I have zero issue with 20% tips even before covid... but a mandatory 20% on poor service? No. That was also not in any fine print that I saw and I have checked since. Our server deserves to get paid but ~$50 tip added to the bill for 4 people (two adults and two children) that had to flag down others for service!? That’s disturbing and despicable. We usually attend for New Years but I think this venue has run its course.

We went for their Thanksgiving buffet today. Food was decent but not worth the price. After 18% gratuity added to each person"s $55 bill + any drink costs, I think we could have cooked our own Thanksgiving dinner and had leftovers. Now we have empty pockets and fridge ?

My now husband and I just got married here yesterday! We fell in love with the venue the minute we toured it! We wanted a chilly fall wedding and the Purple Iris was so prepared, when we had only ordered 2 heaters for our tent they were there to add 2 more heaters to help us out! The food was absolutley incredible! I had over half of our guests tell us that we had the best food they had ever had at a wedding before! We had three option choices and we chose the vegetable cavatappi, the chicken and the salmon because at our tasting we thought it tasted amazing! We had family kids at our wedding and this venue offered chicken tenders & fries as a courtesy to children under the age of 12. The staff were all so kind and accommodating! They helped make our dream wedding come true and we couldn’t have ask for a better place to have our special day! Thank you again to Destiny & all the staff at The Purple Iris for everything you did for us!

We had such a wonderful time at my niece's wedding this past weekend at the Purple Iris! The food was delicious, the staff was super accommodating and sweet. The mansion is gorgeous and so wonderful to walk around and feel transported to the gilded age of antebellum romance. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. The wedding was outstanding, and coming from Spain, my husband and I were extremely happy to have been part of such a truly magical wedding reception! This venue is magic! ?
Absolutely a phenomenal venue! My Son’s wedding reception was amazing and beautifully hosted. The food was delicious ( thank you Chef and staff), the bartenders did a wonderful job, Destiny kept things running smoothly with the planning and the entire night of the event. ALL of the staff were friendly and kept checking on guests to see if we needed anything. The venue itself, is gorgeous! The price is reasonable. I highly recommend this venue for any Wedding, reception or event, and we will definitely book our next special occasion with them!!!!!

The house was filled with historic beauty and there was ample parking on site! Would definitely recommend them for future events!
