We shared wings and loaded french fries, and it was really good.

Words out that the McCoys own this one, and the Hatfields are across the street.

I'm not sure if that's true, but it's funny if it is.

Always competing.

On my road trip through West Virginia, I stopped in the historic town of Matewan. It was definitely a hot day that day and getting a cool beverage was very appealing to me . I was also hungry and wanted a good, sit down meal. I then found Wingo’s Grill on the Main Street of town. The exterior reminded me of an old western saloon. The interior didn’t disappoint either, I found it again to be a very western style theme. I loved the fact that the AC was on and the restaurant was nice & cool. Our hostesses greeted us with that amazing southern charm & draw. She seated us at the table I requested & promptly took our drink orders. I had to go with the freshly brewed iced sweet tea. Your seating options will be booth or table, what’s cool is no two tables are the same! Our waitress came over introduced herself, gave us menus and made special recommendations. She was just pure awesome, very friendly, polite & the sweet WV accent. We placed our food orders and I walked around for a few minutes checking out the place. The walls are covered in the history of the Hatfields & McCoys. I also didn’t realize that this was a big part of the Hatfield & McCoy trail. Our orders were up quick, our waitress made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meals. She was on point with refilling my sweet iced tea, I was really putting it away! We had chicken & homemade nachos , I Philly steak sandwich & the bacon, potato sandwich. The food was simply amazing, perfectly prepared with fresh ingredients & toppings, I cant believe how good it was, definitely not plain greasy bar food. I absolutely loved this restaurant & staff. It really was an experience that I will remember. If you’re down in Matewan, WV you must dine here.

We came into town to go riding. The place looked pretty cool so we decided to give it a try. We should have known since we were the only guests there at 6pm on a Friday evening. Non of the food except the fries were good...that's all I could even eat from my plate. Very dry and no seasoning. The workers seemed to know better than to even ask how our food was when we paid. It's sad because if they served good food they'd probably be busy.
