Visited Forks of Cheat Winery and was great! The tasting room is eclectic, and the views are breathtaking, making it an ideal spot for a large event.Took a stroll down to The Vines and appreciated the serene atmosphere.Bob, the wine sales guy, was incredibly engaging and impressively knowledgeable on a wide range of topics.Can't wait to return with friends and soak in more of this hidden gem!
I stopped on my way through Morgantown to Maryland on a Saturday. The drive was beautiful, as are the views from the winery. The tasting was free, which was a pleasant surprise. The girl working was helpful, funny, and had suggestions for wine pairings and even a way to mix a couple. The only downfall was the overall appearance inside; it's very dirty and smelled of cat urine. Could be a lovely little shop but it needs a serious cleaning.
Our host was knowledgeable and informative.
We purchased 2 bottles of wine and a bottle of port.
They offer tastings with no charge... Nice concept and they did ask that we not abuse their hospitality ?.
Worth the drive!!!!
